I went to Andy Nelson's as a friend highly recommended the BBQ. It was a nice day, and we sat outside. It's very small inside. The amount of food for the price was great! The ribs and cornbread were good. We had our ribs with the dry rub. Everything else was just okay: pulled pork, brisket, mac n cheese, collard greens, and baked beans. The baked beans had a ketchup flavor that I didn't care for. The BBQ sauces available were okay. It's not a place that we would return.

Wow! The wet ribs were amazing and the cornbread had nice crispy edges and was so delicious, the potato salad had dill pickle juice in it, so good! Yum!!!

Serious about barbecue but a fun casual setting. Family-run, not a chain, the Nelsons are on site, cooking, greeting, chatting. Multiple sauces they make are great, but I get pulled pork without bread, topped with just the crisp housemade slaw and it's a fine fast tasty low-carb lunch. Dessert specials like fresh made brownies, raspberry butter bars balance that out. And they have a drive-through and live music outdoors some summer evenings. A fab chicken salad made from BBQ chicken added to menu.

I ordered the Grandpa Guy's Trifecta, advertised on their website as "Half Slab Memphis Style Ribs -n- your choice of TWO BBQ meats"First the good:The ribs were fine, there was a fair amount of them and they were cooked well. The sauce was VERY heavy on the vinegar which I'm not a fan of and quite salty, but to each their own.The cornbread was very good. The staff was also friendly and professional. And the bad:The other two meats were really, really disappointing. I ordered pit beef and brisket. First, they came in the tiniest 1/2 cups you could imagine, an absolutely piddly little amount. Two strips of brisket, 3 of pit beef. A $40 3-meat platter and I got about 6 bites of the other two meats each. It could be those two meats were meant to be sides and not part of the main course, but if that was the case they should say so and even then the portions would have been disappointing, I felt that I received about $25 worth a food. The little bit of pit beef was overcooked and had no flavor whatsoever. And the brisket... that was something else, it was tough, very overcooked, lacked any real flavor and while the meat was not at all juicy it was wet. I needed a knife to get through it, there wasn't a hint of red and please note, I don't mean moist - it was WET, more than condensation would account for. There was a significant pool of oily water at the bottom of the tiny little cup when I was done like someone had dumped water on it hoping to moisten it up some. It didn't work.Based on my experience I really couldn't recommend Andy Nelson's BBQ.

Recently became a carnivore and this is my new go to spot. So far tried the Memphis dry ribs, pulled pork, and Dixie wings (so good) and I love it all. Can get everything by the pound and the service is lightning fast! Music is great too.
