My dining companion and I ordered the Julia Salad with grilled chicken for our lunch meals. The salads were absolutely excellent. The bread at Sammy's is terrific. I am sorry to say I didn't ask our server's name but he was friendly and attentive. The interior of the restaurant is lovely. It was a very nice lunch experience!
If you're anywhere near Hunt Valley and don't stop at Sammy's, you're seriously missing out. This gem of an Italian spot feels like stepping into your grandmother's kitchen—if your grandmother was a culinary goddess with a killer drink menu. The food is authentic, comforting, and full of love—every bite reminds you of home-cooked Sunday dinners. Whether it's the rich pastas, the perfectly seasoned sauces, or the melt-in-your-mouth meatballs, everything is made with care and tradition. The service is top notch, warm, attentive, and never rushed. And the drinks? Creative, strong, and beautifully made—whether you want a bold Negroni or a refreshing spritz, they deliver every time. Sammy's isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It's a must-visit, and honestly, once you go, you'll be planning your next trip back before you leave the parking lot.
Too noisy, i had to yell to my wife sitting right next to me. Pasta that came with dinner was old and starchy. It tasted like it had been sitting in water for hours, if not days. Definitely not fresh!
Our food was delicious but at 6:30 it was extremely loud in the restaurant. Service was good
Food is always outstanding. Linguini with red clam sauce is wonderful and loaded with clams and tons of clams in their shell. Risotto with scallops was also fantastic. Service tends to be a tad slow.
Terrible service. My husband never got his dinner and the waitress never came by to check on us to see if everything was okay.
love this restaurant, but this time they had a service problem and a kitchen problem too. My white wine came warm and our salad was warm also. We waited 1 hour for the salad and another hour for the main course. I kept asking but the waitress said soon soon. I cannot keep giving you good reviews when this happens.
The food was hot and there was plenty of space to sit.
First I got a friendly greeting from the hostess, Very nice. So much fun with the bartender Steve, always friendly and good service. I will be back!
The worst Italian food I have ever eaten in an Italian restaurant, great ambience, fair service , amazing that they were busy because the food was horrible...never eat there again!

Food and service were excellent but the noise level and background music were uncomfortable. The women's restroom was terribly dirty and badly needed attention, very disappointing for an otherwise nice restaurant.
We were seated right away and warm bread and waters came to the table quickly. That was the best part of the night. Waited over 35 min for apps and dinner was served as we were finishing the apps. Food was on par with a bad night at the Olive Garden. Save your money.
Food as always on point. However, everyone's meals were served, my sister in law and my self were served about 10 minutes later, I had a salad. The sides to 2 dishes that accompanied the Halibut and Tina & Toni came out after they had already finished with their meals and we had to ask for them. I have never had that experience there. The service has always been great. I order a cappuccino, ice cold. Didn't feel like waiting for a replacement. I'm not sure what happened but the service was subpar on Saturday night.
Slow service, Luke warm food served late. Overall impression : no one cared to make a welcoming atmosphere.
