The food is always great and there's a few vegan options marked on the online menu. The knife cut noodles with spicy tofu are my go to!

Great food! However, the customer service from (I think it was the manager?) could be better. This restaurant gets busy (understandable the food is great), but yesterday my friends and I were first on the waitlist and the manager told us she would call us when the table was ready. We decided to wait next door at cstone and as soon I got the call we ran over. The manager’s tone was condescending and said she gave the table away and blamed us because it was “my fault” for not answering the phone (which is fine but we were literally next door and rushed over which took 2 minutes according to my phone) and she said maybe I didn’t have signal (which wasn’t true and I showed her my phone). As someone who has worked in food service and hospitality, it is my opinion that if someone reserved a table, there is a grace period (in our case 2 minutes). Making our party wait another 10minutes because we were 2 minutes late to the reservation and then blaming the customers is unreasonable and unprofessional. We decided to wait for another table and as we were being seated and eating etc. the manager was glaring at us and made us uncomfortable.I love the food here but the manager’s attitude was disappointing. Was not a positive experience.

The yunnan rice noodles is by far the best I’ve ever tried. My parents are even from yunnan. Made me homesick.

Great food here. I've had the beef and chicken burgers, the knife-cut noodles with tofu, and the eggplant, potato and pepper noodles. Everything is delicious. It's a very no-frills environment inside, so don't expect anything fancy, but the food is excellent. Do be prepared to be tasting garlic all day after your meal.

I have been eyeing this place for a while... it's been featured in Washingtonian's Top 50 DMV places to eat for at least the past 2 years. On an evening with no plans, I decided to finally give them a try! I decided to order online and pick up in person. For those who need to know, there are quite a few vegetarian options... but be sure to read the ingredients in the description. I was trying to avoid pork, and the red oil sesame dumplings looked quite appealing -- but I saw that the other dumplings had pork. I called ahead just to verify whether they had pork, and they verified that they did. I'm glad I asked -- the lady on the phone was very polite too! I don't think I ever had a Chinese burger (at least not recently), so I went for the Spicy Cumin Lamb Mo and hot oil-seared knife cut noodles, extra spicy. I ran a quick errand and then ran to the restaurant itself, which isn't lit up at night like some of the others on that row, but the inside was lovely!! There were a few tables where you could dine in, and they were all full when I was there. My food was ready and on a pickup table right next to the register. I would love to dine in there some day! I returned home, set up a TV show, and dug in. I liked the bread for the burger and the lamb was nice and flavorful! The noodle dish was quite enjoyable too. For dessert I got the sweet balls with brown sugar soup -- I never had it before, so I didn't know what to expect! It was a warm dessert that was presented just as it sounds -- there was a brown broth with five soft and sweet dumplings in them. All the flavor was in the balls themselves -- the soup didn't have much on its own... but a delicious dessert collectively anyway! I can't wait to go back!

This place is tiny inside my anxiety wouldn't allow me to sit in here on a busy day/night. We did order food to go though and boy oh boy were we impressed. Let me preface this with, this good is not the normal American Chinese food most of us hlarr used to. The food here is traditional Chinese food. I began with the spicy beef mo and it was phenomenal! This was a great introduction to some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Next I moved on to the sour soup dumplings and they were a head turner!! So good and flavorful. I finished with the Dan Dan noodles, sans the peanuts, and again the flavor was immaculate. These items will be had again and again because I will be going back for more!

Food and price point are both excellent! Came here for the first time on a Friday and was fortunate to not have to wait. Minutes after we were seated, a group of people amassed near the door waiting to be seated. Service was prompt and attentive. The spicy cumin lamb mo was excellent. It wasn't so big, so it was nice as a shared appetizer. There was no shortage of meat stuffed in the flatbread! The hot oil knife cut noodles were also tasty, if a tad oily (but that's to be expected for dishes that use chili oil). I don't believe the noodles are made in house, but they're good nonetheless. Parking is tough in this area, but there's paid parking across the street in the shopping plaza.

Came here based on reviews and because of a hankering for a hearty soup. Ordered the Spicy Beef Rice Noodle Soup and enjoyed it, a good combo of heat and a bit of....sourness?Be aware that seating here is a hair's width from communal, it small place to seating is a bit cramped to ensure as many people can be seated as possible.Definitely worth a stop in and it's cool to see a Chinese restaurant that isn't just the classic hits but, rather, something more authentic in feel, and taste.

Revisited Northwest Chinese Food today to try some new menu items! My friend and I shared sour soup dumplings and mung bean noodles in both hot chili oil and cold sesame sauce. I've been dying to try the noodles and they were so slippery and chewy, I'm in love. I also tried the fruit tea for the first time and I'm a fan. Not pictured is the tangyuan dessert, also tried it for the first time and I'm obsessed with the black sesame filling inside of the mochi balls. This is one of my favorite authentic local spots and I love to keep coming back for more!

Very delicious food and fast, friendly service.

They charged excessively. While the food is decent, the ingredients don't seem very fresh (e.g., lamb), and the portions of meat are very limited. The noodles, priced at $20, seem unreasonably high. It feels like they are pricing as if they're in Manhattan.
