About The Jerk Pit

The Jerk Pit offers flavorful and reasonably priced food, but customers should be prepared to wait up to an hour and a half for their order, as the restaurant is often busy. The location was a bit hard to find since it’s literally a house on the side of the road with colorful fences. While the Oxtail was really good, the jerk chicken was slightly dry. The food is pretty good in comparison to other Jamaican restaurants, but the service can be slow and confusing. Customers have noted that it’s sometimes hard to know when to pick up orders, and the staff can seem a bit intimidating and not very welcoming. For example, an over-the-phone order for 3 half, dark chicken orders was missing the jerk sauce, and the staff responded that there was nothing they could do, which was disappointing. The restaurant also has a bar upstairs on Friday and Saturday nights. Although the food is great, some find it a bit too expensive and often experience long waits of around 25 minutes. To avoid long wait times, it’s recommended to order ahead or go for takeout. The Oxtail is highly recommended, but the Beef and Chicken patties may need improvement.
