Tokoa Cheesesteaks

Got the Philly cheesesteak and taquitos. For the cheesesteak, the taste was good but portion was small for the price, not a good value. The taquitos filling was also a bit dry.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and was not happy at all the cheesesteaks were dry and lacking flavor, the bread that they use is not for cheesesteaks at all. It was disappointing, especially since I've heard good things about this place. I hope they can improve this dish because the rest of the menu looks promising."

I have to say, I am very disappointed in the direction taken by Tokoa. My very first visit was great, as this place was still living up to the hype of social media influencers. I've seen the cheese steaks go from an enormous 14 to 16 inch sub (pause) packed with steak, costing about $23 after tax, to an 8 inch sub going for $15. Now they have the audacity of serving a 6 inch sub with a mediocre amount of cheese steak for $15!!! The quantity and quality of the food significantly decreased. Franky, it's a shame that things got this point. This is my last time going to this place, especially with so many options in the area.

Chicken sub was very light on the meat. Wasn't as seasoned . The birria sub was very good. After waiting for months to go... disappointed but one sub was better then the other. The price didn't match what I got. Pineapple lemonade was good. Also quick service.

I’ve been to Tokoa about a dozen times now and every time I order their house cheesesteak. The problem is that this house cheesesteak changes about twice a month. I’ve seen it go from “The Steak” to “TK Cheesesteak” a handful of times now. With every name change, the sandwich itself changes too.

Last month, when it was “The Steak”… Holy Jeebus. It was probably the greatest meaty amalgamation one could ever ask for. It had tender, perfectly seasoned chunks of steak, lettuce, tomato, house sauce, melted garlic butter and it was topped with fried onions. I must’ve ordered this sandwich about 5 times in the span of a week or two. I even made a fool of myself and tried to order a large size (which they didn’t have for this version). I would do anything for that sandwich.

As of this month, it’s back to the “TK Cheesesteak”. This is your typical thinly-sliced steak with provolone and the usuals. Is it more true to a real Philly cheesesteak? Sure, and it’s still a pretty damn good one.

But nothing compares to “The Steak”.

I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, but it’s clear that the food here is made-to-order, super fresh, and sprinkled with love. Good stuff.

Best kept secret in College Park! Best cheesesteak and tacos. Not just anywhere that you can get cheesesteak and tacos too! All fresh ingredients that will have you coming back again and again. We’ve loved everything we ordered but recommend birria taco, carne asada taco, TK cheesesteak! Great place and will definitely be back.

Great tacos! They have regular and birria tacos. The food comes out piping hot and fresh. They don’t skimp on the meat. I like the crisp vegetables too. Don’t bother getting tacos anywhere else in CP!

The sandwiches are half the size with half the meat but the price is the same my last trip was today

I've been to Philly before so I know what I'm talking about this is definitely one of the best cheesesteaks in Maryland by far!!

The first time I really enjoyed the cheesesteak taste has been inconsistent ever since the first visit the biggest complaint is the meat desperately needs to be salted! Please add salt.

Need to improve their time of open if it say 11:30am it need to be open, people is literally waiting outside to eat! get it together!

Best of the bestest cheesesteaks, I am super critical with my food adventures, and I hardly come across something worth talking about. This was one of my best random cheesesteak hunt, but thanks to my husband for bringing me here since he attended the University of Maryland. Yummm yummm yummm sooooo gooood. I was so indulged that I even forgot to take a picture for yall.

Service was OK. Philly cheese steak was good, but not quite as good as the spots in Philly. However, best one I've had in the DMV.

Parking: You can park in lot across the street or garage around the corner.
