Althea's Almost Famous - I love This Jerk

We discovered I Love This Jerk at R House as one of the pop up restaurants and we have been so happy we did. The food is delicious. The portions are generous and customer service is always great! Hoping to enjoy their food for years to come!

Tried this place inside of R House and my experience was not pleasant at all. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Sandwich w/ Fries. When I bit into my sandwich the chicken breast was still cold and bloody in the middle of it. When I went back to say something to them, the guy who took my order thought it was funny that my food was cold. The lady acted as though she didn’t want to refund me my money either.

I had my 40th birthday party catered by her and ALL of my guests were super impressed!!! Did I mention half of us are chefs? I always chase her food truck down at every event! Thank you Althea and wonderful staff 🙏

Finally able to try this food truck. Went today during the farmers market. Ordered a jerk chicken pattie and a spinach pattie. The spinach was ok and was given a beef pattie instead, which was dry. The patties weren’t filled well either. They were $5 each and should have been $3. Disappointed with my first experience.

Decided to give their mobile cart a try at a music festival. Paid $35 for 4 tiny pieces of oxtail and mushy rice. Very disappointing.

Delicious food and exceptional service. Our office catered lunch from here and the team was amazing. Jerk chicken was some of the best I have had in greater Baltimore. The beef patties were great, plantains were delicious and the juices were all great. Would highly recommend.

First time getting food from here and I was highly disappointed! Definitely not authentic Jamaican jerk chicken & rice n peas. I purchased jerk chicken “spicy sauce”, rice n peas, cabbage. The chicken was more of a baked chicken versus a grilled chicken and had not flavor at all.The spicy sauce was spicy but not jamaican spicy and was watery.The rice n peas were ok but dry . The cabbage was the best thing but still just ok. Overall very disappointed and a waste of $22 bucks!My coworker order the curry chicken, spicy , white rice, cabbage and a curried chicken patty. She felt the same as I. She felt as if the chicken had no real flavor and they just put enough curry to change the color of the chicken and it wasn't spicy. She didn't care for the rice or the patty either.

I don't have a photo. But I was in the process of picking up a delivery and did not hesitate to grab myself a Jamaican spicy beef patty and a curry chicken patty.Hot. Fresh. Tasty! A must try.If you like spice and all things made fresh, this is your place. I'm on the go where finger or handheld foods are a good way to go. Especially when it's scratch.

Wow! What a great culinary experience! Althea arrived on time for our event and was had a beautiful personality! She was helpful in our set up and even filled in some gaps with missing plates/forks when realized we didn't have enough! The food...unmatched! Our team LOVED the cuisine and there was NOTHING that didn't go fast! If you're looking for authentic tasting Caribbean, this is it!
