I'm from Texas and while visiting my son in Columbia, he said he wanted to take me for some good Mexican food. I was skeptical and he was wrong. The food wasn't good, it was great! We got a huge order of guacamole and it was delicious. My entrée was a sour cream chicken enchilada and a cheese enchilada, with rice and beans. Probably the best cheese enchilada I've ever had. Everything was very tasty and I had a stout blue drink that was very good

We tried this place for the first time and we both loved it. The chimichanga appetizer was amazing as well as our main dishes. We will definitely be going back.

10 servers standing around and no one was working at the bar where I was sitting. Hostess gave me my menu and left. I waited for 15 mins for assistance and walked out. Unfortunately service is going down at this location. Headed to Uncle Julio’s!

So I went to this place at 8:30 because it didn’t close until 10. However, customer service was bad from the front door entrance. As I stood at the host stand waiting for a menu for 3 minutes, a waitress waved me to the bar. As I sat at the empty bar, it took another 3 minutes for the bartender to stop cleaning the margaritas machine to notice me. As she asked me what I want in those exact ill mannered English words, I told her I needed to see a menu since it was my first time. She looked at the ground then walked to the host stand to retrieve a menu. I order chicken enchiladas with beans and rice as well as chips and queso. When I asked was it gonna be a long wait because I requested carry out, she simply shrugged and walked to the margaritas machine. I ordered a drink to pass the time. My food came in 20 minutes and she slide the check and left me. I paid the check with a tip because maybe her attitude was displaced but be warned this place food is subpar plus no beans & rice, my chips& queso were cold & stale and my food lacked flavor. Go to Banditos or a local food truck. I promise it will be better.

This was our second visit to Cinco de Mayo in Columbia, and unfortunately, both visits left us disappointed, even though the food was excellent.
On this visit, the margaritas were a letdown. One tasted like cough syrup, and the other seemed to have no alcohol at all. They were over fifteen dollars each, but we did not say anything at the time because our server could not understand us. There were communication issues throughout the meal, which made it difficult to address concerns.
The food was still very good, but the overall experience didn’t measure up. It reminded us why it took two years to return after our first visit. During that visit, we had just been seated and served drinks when we were unexpectedly asked to move to another table, which was not an improvement. The details are a bit fuzzy now, but we left feeling problematic.
We really wanted this second visit to be different. Unfortunately, it came with a new set of problems. At these prices, we expect more consistency in both service and quality. We’re still hopeful this was just bad luck and would love to see things handled differently if we ever return.

Everyone’s always so nice. The steak fajitas is what I come for !! Great margaritas as well. I recommend the mayo margarita delicious!

they took a costumers id because they said it was “fake”, they refused to give it back until police was called

I used to really enjoy Cinco de Mayo but the last few times I’ve eaten here, unfortunately, have not been enjoyable. The queso has been watery, most recently, the chicken quesadilla was bland/less than average and the kids taco bowl was less than appetizing - it didn’t even taste like real meat and multiple bites had hard pieces in them - concerning when you’re feeding it to your child. Unfortunately, we have taken Cinco de Mayo off the list of places to visit in Columbia.

Food is horrible...it used to be good. The T bone I ordered was white like chicken color. They told me they change to the new vendor who provides the meat ...

My husband and I love trying new Mexican spots around the DMV so we popped in here before daye night. When you walk in it smelled amazing (like fajita skillets) so we were excited to eat! Unfortunately the food did not meet our expectation. We both like to start with the basics when trying a new Mexican restaurant if you get that right we know the rest will be amazing, so I had the SANTO (shredded beef taco, birria quesadilla and chicken enchilada). Neither of which were seasoned at all, very bland and overcooked so it wasn’t tender. Even the birria consommé or broth was bland. My husband had the LOLO (burrito, chicken enchilada & a beef quesadilla) and said the same, lacked flavor and seasoning and was overcooked. Sangria was okay, nothing special. Don’t think we’ll be back.

Always a great meal

Friendly staff, but unfortunately that’s it. Carne asada was sad looking. Definitely NOT worth $25! The Birria Tacos had NO FLAVOR. The only good thing was the rice and refried beans.
