Stopped in on a whim with friends after Happy Hour in Columbia for the Holidays. It was a Tuesday night and we were seated quickly. Plenty of hot tea which is very nice. I am a shrimp toast aficionado and there toast is a 7.5 out of 10 which is pretty good. All of our entrees were on point save for the General Tso's chicken which was a bit over-cooked -> not terribly but overcooked all the same. The service was polite but not overly friendly. The portions were humongous like most Chinese establishments. Three of our four took food home. Finally the pricing, especially for Columbia in Howard County is very fair for what you are served. We are seldom in this area but would happily return if we are.
Oh how have you failed us??? Let me tell you!!! Been to this place several times but not in several years. Was really craving their good food but....... We ordered 1. Crab and corn soup for 2 - was so fishy that we couldn't eat it. The crispy noodles served with it were greasy and smelled of old fish oil. We sent it back and still was charged. $16.00 2. Pork Bon Mi buns. They were fair but had a sticky coating. Taste ok. 3. Sesame Chicken - very slimy and extremely sweet. Chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. 4. Sizzling Pepper Steak- very tender but sauce was strange. 5. Egg Rolls- almost all vegetables and very little meat. Again tasted of old fish oil and very greasy. Clearly dropped in oil twice. Take out 1. Hot and Sour Soup - neither hot nor sour. Had to spice and sour it myself. 2. Large Wonton (qt) - tasty broth HOWEVER 4 wontons with almost no meat in them. 3. House Fried Rice - Only thing that was half way decent. Needed some flavoring. A little soy sauce and it was good. STAY AWAY!!! Wife got sick next day. I got a little quesy myself. Bill was $126.00 and I could have eaten better from Panda Express.
Great food, great service, affordable pricing! Wonderful place to meet for family gatherings, large tables and well laid out floor plan.

Delicious food. Comfortable and cozy environment. Spacious booths and relaxing, low lighting. Hot and sour soup has the perfect blend of ingredients. The pork fried dumplings were the tastiest I've eaten.

Messed up my order and did not give me my egg roll. I called the place and the lady was defensive and rude.

With excellent chefs from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, foods prepared are very delicious and tasty with larger size to serve several guests. Service are very good even with many guests to be served.

Always a great choice and my favorite Hunan restaurant!
Had many gatherings at this establishment! Many delicious dishes to choose from. In one outing they were able to accommodate our party of 22 in one of the private room. Some of our favorite dishes are spicy wontons, beef tripe, salty crispy pork chops, seared beef on a sizzling hot plate, beef chow fun, young chow fried rice and snow pea tips in garlic when it’s available. Staffs are attentive and service is fast. Always a nice treat when we are able to get a table by the huge fish tank!

Food is normally great, but it appears they rushed the cooking. Rice not well done. Broccoli with garlic not seasoned as usual

I've been coming here since I was a child, but Hunan Manor has gone down way down hill.
We ordered walnut shrimp which tasted off and ultimately made me violently ill. Upon going to the restroom to vomit, I almost slipped in urine, and there was no soap to clean up.
Before this occurred, I had placed a to-go order on a separate check for my partner, and of course immediately after paying for it is when I fell ill. My guts turned inside-out. I ate two shrimp, but one tasted particularly fishy. No doubt that was the culprit.
Thankfully, after saying they couldn't refund us for the shrimp by instead offering us a gift card for the trouble, they did refund us for the shrimp after much hassle.
I recommend the health department visit here because this was unacceptable.
As a life long customer, I regret to say this will be the last time I ever come here. My to-go food is going in the trash. All my positive memories of this place shattered because of one horrendous experience. What a shame.
