On 2/25/26, our group of 10 arrived on time for our 7:15 reservation to celebrate a birthday. As soon as we walked in, we were told—quite rudely—that the kitchen closes at 8:00 and that we needed to order immediately. None of us had been there before, so we were unfamiliar with the menu and felt rushed to decide while the server stood over us.
We ordered quickly. Our appetizers included lettuce wraps: two chicken and one vegetarian. When the appetizers arrived, all three orders were chicken. We immediately informed the server of the mistake, but he simply shrugged and said we would need to order another vegetarian one. There was no apology and no adjustment to the bill.
The rest of the food came out quickly, with generous portions and was mostly tasty. The server did do a nice job presenting the birthday cake we brought, which we appreciated. It’s also worth noting that we were the only people in the restaurant that evening.
I’m not someone who typically writes reviews like this, so I called a few days later to share our experience directly. The person I spoke with said we should not have been told that the kitchen closed at 8:00 and that she would pass the information along to the manager. Unfortunately, I never heard back, which is why I felt it was necessary to leave this review.

Not the prettiest place ever, but damn, they have some tasty food! I think many people order carryout from here, but the dining here is super quiet (mostly because lots of tables are empty). I came on Valentine's Day and there were about only 4 other tables occupied. Fantastic food, fantastic service. But they don't do mocktails, just FYI. Their tea is delicious though! Our go to place when the craving hits for General Tso's Chicken!

Went to the bistro for the first time on Xmas Eve with two kids, wife and mother. Only two tables were there as we arrived at 530. Promptly sat then in came another table and another. Soon there were 8 tables of people but we arrived before 5 of them. As we waited we recognized they only had 1 server and someone running the to go. Waited 30 minutes patiently and the waiter only brought waters. He said he would return. All good. No rush. A table sat after us complained about waiting and their order was taken before us even though we arrived first and also had two children. Waited another 5 minutes to see if he would come back promptly but he was too busy. Not sure how an Asian/Chinese restaurant has one server on Xmas eve but very disappointed. Instead of eating at 530 we had to scramble to have a nice family dinner somewhere else at 730. Not happy about it one bit.

We’ve always enjoyed our meals here. Everything is tasty and reasonably priced, especially at lunch. Their lunch veggie bar is back, and free with a lunch purchase. A really good deal.

Never eaten on premise but the takeout is excellent. Drove more 25 miles just to get it.

The food here is absolute trash. The shrimp fried rice came wrong, the egg foo young was overcooked, and the ribs had zero flavor. When I called to fix the shrimp fried rice fiasco, the manager argued, laughed at me, and acted like I was the problem. The so‑called manager, Nicole, was rude and disrespectful right down to her fake “Merry Christmas.” This place has gone completely downhill. They don’t care about the food or their customers. Save your money and eat anywhere else.

I used to love the Marengo Delight lunch and order it regularly but the last two times it was so gross and the portions got smaller and for more money. A lot more! Will not ever order again. I did however like the hot and sour soup. I will continue to order that. Still expensive!
Very good

I'm reviewing because it feels like Asean Bistro is limping on its last leg and that saddens me. They've been around for a couple decades. I used to go often when I lived closer. Both dine in and carry out. Delicious Crispy Eggplant.
Went this week and it was a bit disappointing. The corner cutting for cost savings is painfully obvious. The eggplant was still very yummy albeit more sweet than spicy. Serving size was very good.
My dad ordered shrimp toast and said it's the smallest serving of shrimp toast he's ever seen. Still good though.
The biggest surprise though is being stingy with white rice. Very odd to me. If I ate all of my entree there, I would've had to ask for more rice.
I hope something changes to get it back to the bustling restaurant with cheesy live piano playing again. My guess is there's too much competition now for them and they haven't changed their menu.
If you've read this far, I suggest going for a dinner sometime to see if we can give some life back to this oldie but goodie.
