Enjoyed a relaxing Sunday afternoon at Lost Ark Distilling Co. Thanks to Alex for the overview of Lost Ark spirits and the delicious drinks he prepared for my wife and I. He is an excellent host. Definitely a location to add to your Maryland distillery tour list.

Top notch rum, did not expect a distillery of this quality in Maryland, let alone Columbia. Highly recommend the tasting to try their full line of products, stopping in for a cocktail, and/or purchasing a bottle.

i went to lost ark for a nice time with my friends expected a nice time, sadly that’s not what i received. they had the worst attitude and were so nasty to my whole party. we spent much money here and i just feel we should be treated right and appreciated

My husband and I did a tour and tasting at the Lost Ark, and it was fantastic. We later returned to enjoy drinks and purchased their vanilla rum, creamy caramel rum and bourbon whiskey, which are absolutely amazing. We shared them with all our guests during the holidays, and everyone raved about the flavors. If you have a couple of hours to spare, I highly recommend doing the tour and tasting, or just stopping in for a drink. We don’t get out much but it’s a great date night spot in the evenings with live music. Their rum is so incredibly smooth and full of flavor. We will definitely keep it in stock at our house from now on. I highly recommend this experience and their rum and whiskey.

Far Beyond What I Expected!

I’m lowbrow when it comes to wine tastings and beer brewhouses. As the sommelier explains, “in this red you can detect hints of okra and peanut butter”, I just smile and nod and drink my burny grape juice.
So when I went on Lost Ark’s distillery tour, I figured it would be barely notable over my usual Captain Morgan, and was mainly there for the interesting distilling process insight.

And the tour was excellent for sure; I learned a ton of neat facts and terms and laws that define the industry. The owner is great, it’s a quaint and personable establishment, and the atmosphere is so low key and relaxing- a wonderful place to hang out.

But what utterly blew me away is how good the rum is! It is absolutely unlike anything I’ve ever had before! And I’m assuming that stems from the fact (as they explained) that due to typical alcohol laws, rum has more freedom to branch out in flavor and process than a typical whisky or bourbon does.
Even the basic white rum was so flavorful!

So yes, definitely check this place out! Hang out with friends or family and get some cocktails, or take the tour and tasting for a fun afternoon. Or, just buy some bottles of their wide selection as gifts! (and buy yourself a gift while you’re at it, you deserve it.)

Found the tour very informative , the presentation of the rums was very unique , the way they were compared to a dinner, had me thinking about the scene in john wick 2 when he goes to the wine shop to pick out weapons . take the tour and see if you don,t think that as well .
Purchased 6 bottles and look forward to sharing them with friends

My friends and I had an amazing time at the distillery! We really enjoyed hearing the owners story of how he started his business and how they produce their products! We all purchased a bottle of our favorite rum from the tasting. Will visit again!

My husband and I attended the event with some friends. We all had a fun time learning a little rum history and about the distillery process from the owner. We enjoyed the rum tasting event; we purchased a couple cases. We will return.

My husband and I went on a date for a tour and tasting. We truly appreciated all of the history that was shared with us not only about the distillery but also how rum has evolved over the years. We had a great time and we will definitely go back for other events they host there! If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that I wished that we could have sat down for the tasting instead of standing at bar. In total, you will stand for an hour.
