Medium Rare Restaurant

Steak was tough for medium rare. Service didn't ask if we wanted more food they just put it on our plates. For a restaurant that only serves one thing I had higher expectations.

Steak is an okay cut of culotte, not very high quality but kind of expected for $32 for two servings (each serving is probably 6-8oz of meat) and the sauce is very good. Our first serving of the sauce was floury/grainy but the second serving was smooth and very good. They say the bread is “rustic artisan bread” and I guess that's code for difficult to eat. The bread that we were served was all but burnt, it felt like eating croutons. The parts that stayed soft were good but the breads crust was incredibly burnt and crunchy. The salad is plain but good, ground pepper tableside is a nice touch. Fries are very good - use the sauce! Our waiter was barely around (he felt very new) but we did have a couple of other waitstaff check on us for drinks etc. which was appreciated. They had an outdated seasonal drink menu on the wall

The waiter was very nice and attentive, however when we shared that we had never been there before he did not explain anything to us. We did not know about the 2nd serving or the sauce that was poured all over the meat. The food was okay, but nothing special. The tables are so close together you have to walk single file to get anywhere and the music was a bit too loud.

I stopped by for brunch and was impressed by how friendly and attentive the staff were. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. That said, the food didn't quite live up to expectations. The steak and eggs were a bit too salty, and the portion of steak and fries felt somewhat small. Overall, I appreciated the service and environment, but the food could use a little improvement to match the great ambiance.

The food was very good and the portions were plentiful. The service was amazing. The Brunch option is a great choice, something for everyone. The bottomless mimosas hit the spot! I highly recommend this restaurant.

The steak frites at the medium rare location is Columbia are the best steak frites I’ve ever had. The service is impeccable and the gravy that goes on the steak is drinkable.

Steak Frites, steak and fries, this restaurant delivers precisely what it's name says in a relaxed atmosphere in Columbia. Generous portions of steak and fries, a delicious secret sauce, rustic bread and a salad for an unbelievable bargain prix fixe. For non-meat eaters a similarly generous portion, substituting portobello mushrooms in a red pepper coulis. I've eaten in a Belgian restaurant in Paris, and this restaurant would rival that experience. So the food is definitely five star.
They also have a small wine list, four beers on tap, including Delirium Tremens, imported from Belgium. We didn't try any, but the bar offers some unique specialty cocktails. Five stars for the beverage selection.
The crowning jewel of this experience was the service. Our server (Stephanie?) was outstanding. She explained everything and answered any questions. Her timing was on point and she was attentive without intrusive. Exceptional for only being on the job for three weeks. Five stars for service.
This is a restaurant I'll be returning to again and again.

We already loved Medium Rare but their Brunch is extra special. You can get buttery eggs with either their steak fritz, French toast that's been fried or other delicious items. All served with all you can drink items, starter and crusty bread.

Our favorite spot for any occasion—my boyfriend loves the steak, I love the portobello mushroom, & we both love the fries (not to mention the cocktails)! Our waitress, Jessica, was super friendly & beyond accommodating. We will definitely be visiting again!

Excellent Service! He was attentive and friendly. I don't find many restaurants in this area with good service. I enjoyed the food and good service
