Don't come at me for liking this place. Yes it's expensive. Yes the view of the lake is nice and calming. Yes the servers aren't Japanese even if it's a Japanese restaurant. Yes it's right near Whole Foods which is probably part of why it's expensive. In comparison to the other sushi restaurants in the area, I think this place has enough ambiance things going on to justify the price. Also where else am I going to get eel avocado with that much green on it and thickly sliced eel? Salmon sashimi (ate it too quick) was thick, melt in the mouth, and delicious. Tempura udon was pretty good too. Went here for lunch and will probably be back!

The sushi and sashimi were excellent. I could see they used very fresh fishes. Nigiri could be little bigger but it was good enough. However, servers and services were just OK and tempura was OK too but not great. I will be there again definitely but won't try other than sushi and sashimi.By the way, they eliminated their lunch specials which is very sad.

The food is absolutely delicious! The sushi melts in your mouth! You truly can't be disappointed with anything you choose, I truly did not expect this place to be tucked away in Columbia. With the current experience and execution of the dishes I wouldn't be surprised to see bib gourmand listed in the window soon.I ordered miso soup, Hollywood roll and spicy hamatchi

If you love sushi you will love Sushi Sono. The restaurant is tucked in a neat quiet corner where the view is beautiful. The restaurant is so beautiful, small and cozy. The ladies greet you and are super friendly and helpful and the sushi is spectacular, fresh and delicious. Service is excellent and quick. I've eaten here on several occasions with friends and family. (Was just here on Friday). My friends love the saki in addition to the sushi. I'm a huge tempura fan and Sushi Bono's tempura is fabulous. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Love this place. My family always enjoys Sushi Sono. Great service and food.
The Branzino fish was delicious! The chef made sushi for us from whole fish (you can ask about Sashimi as well). After that, he grilled a part of the belly and made miso soup from the head of branzino. So, my wife and I were delighted. If you love seafood, I really recommend.

Great Sushi! Last time I went to Sushi Sono was over a decade ago. I used to be a regular. I started going to several other sushi places. I recently went back to Sushi Sono ( twice in less than 2 months).I have to say I was reminded why they have one of the best sushi around . The fish is fresh, and lean...yes lean.I like eel, and it is pretty fatty. Some sushi restaurants I have been to serve mostly the fatty portion of the fish, making it hard to enjoy the meal.At Sushi Sono, I eat with confidence :-)

The atmosphere is wonderful: a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant, with servers in kimonos and a beautiful view of the lake. Prices can be a little expensive, but worth it for a nice occasion.

Everything was delicious. The staff all work together to take care of you. We came in a 2 knowing they close at 3 to prep for dinner. I was expecting to be rushed but they treated us as if we had all day. We had shrimp tempura and 4 different rolls. I can't remember the names of all of them. The seafood roll with the deep fried fish was my favorite!!! I didn't even get a photo of it :-/

Views were good as were the appetizers. The server was pointedly rude and brusque. She had aggressive body language and plonked the dishes onto the table. The specialty rolls had a strong fishy aftertaste (not fresh, hopefully safe). Overall prob just good for the location. Stick to the apps and avoid the fish or better yet just take a walk around lake and go elsewhere for better food and service
