Been here twice & ice cream is ok but always tastes too sweet! Service and smells are amazing so I'll give it four out of five stars

Needed a sweet treat after dinner n the Merriweather district and walked by the Charmery. I had heard good things about it so I'd been wanting to try it out. My daughter is always up for some ice cream so she was willing to give it a try as well. Still looks nice and clean inside and there was no line on a Tuesday evening. There was no line when we got there so we didn't have to wait long. They have a lot of interesting flavors. I had the cookie dough and my daughter went with the basic chocolate. The portions are tiny and it's expensive so I won't be coming often. It runs about 7 dollars for a small scoop. Toppings are a little extra. We got ours in cups but they have mini cones and larger waffle cones. Ice cream was soft and sweet. Reminds me of a fancy baskin robins.

very good dessert following big lunch at peter chang's, next door. we had roasted strawberry, butter pecan and lemon ice creams. all super delish! very excited to visit their shop in chevy chase and, i think, another on upper georgia avenue, nw (in new retail development on site of previous walter reed campus).

Danny devito cutouts in the back are unprofessional but it makes me feel comfier in that store. I like the water dispenser in the back. I like the ice cream, it has a diverse variety of flavors, some rotate out. It is quite a bit pricey but I’d assume that. Worth a visit if you are on a nearby highway.

Yummy. I had the Maryland mud with vanilla. Such a great combo. Purchased the caramel old bay and lemon cream in their pint size and those are delicious too.

I was expecting it to be really good but to me it was okay. I thought the shop was cute though so that's a huge bonus. I think the issue is that I got something I didn't like.

Update: 2 years later and this place is still tops. Get the Maryland Mud flavor. I'm pretty sure it's a staple in their flavors. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. They try some pretty crazy and unique flavor combinations, but I haven't had a bad one yet. You can sample any and all you want to try, and they've all been good. But I always go back to Maryland Mud. :) Also, we love the color-changing spoons. It's the little things really.Stumbled on The Charmery while in Columbia (thanks, Google!) and it's only been open a week! Their menu isn't huge, but I think they've perfected their craft. I got the Cake Kitta-something (??‍♀️) and hubs and son got the Ice Cream Sando and both were REALLY fantastic. Nice and thick! ...and unique but delicious flavors. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We will definitely return!

Not too many selections to embrace but just enough to get you to consider a double or triple scoop just to try an unconventional flavor, like Old Bay Caramel. And don't let us Marylanders love of Old Bay detour you from ever giving it a try when it's not on top of tater tots or soup. It oddly works yet somehow these flavors melt together on the tiny tasting spoon. Please do as to try out as many flavors as you can, there are pints for you to take home in the back. But if having ice cream in your freezer isn't doable, consider a double scoop from The Charmery. We settled for a cult favorite, Old Bay caramel and salty caramel and the ever-so controversial, Mint Mountain and traditional pure vanilla with real beans. Texture is silky smooth and really, they should consider adding affogatos to their menu because coffee makes everything a little more amazing. No photos were taken due to inexplicably great conversation brewed over sharing spoonfuls within the last 10 minutes before closing time.

Bring back speculoos please, it was your best flavor. Charmery is not the same without it.

What a neat little ice cream shop! I was quite shocked to see how packed this place was at 9pm on a Thursday night. I guess that's a testament to how good this place is. I'm not from this area, nor have I ever seen/heard of a Charmery but I'm glad I went in. Even though they were crowded, the lady behind the counter put up with my need to sample some of these super cool flavors. Old Bay Salted Carmel!? So interesting and a perfect balance of sweet and salty. Speculoos was my favorite and perfect during the holiday season. I'd recommend you give this place a shot if you are an ice cream lover!

Took the family over to "The Charmery" for ice cream, after ice skating. This time we tried rye whiskey eggnog, root beer, lime in the coconut, Mississippi mud, green apple cider, and a couple others (I don't remember what the youngest two got). We got to spin the wheel for a free dessert which ended up being a Sunday. I got a Sunday with root beer flavored ice cream. I was quite pleased with the quality of the chocolate used and I was surprised how well it paired with the root beer flavored ice cream (I know how it sounds, but everyone who tried it in our group agreed).
