This is a nice suburban restaurant near The Mall in Columbia, Maryland. The service is attentive, and the restaurant itself is comfortable. This food doesn't push the culinary envelope, but it is flavorful and nicely served. We had the French Tease cocktail, a riff on the French 75, which they altered at my request to be less sweet.I had two small plates as my dinner. The crab cake sundae was a bowl of Maryland tomato- based crab soup, which had a ladle of cream of crab soup in the middle, and in that was a crab cake and a crab claw. It was an interesting dish, and all was perfectly fine. The waitress did not think that was enough for dinner, so I had the fried oysters with bacon and onion dressing with a surprisingly spicy black hot sauce. The oysters were small and a bit greasy, but tasty. We shared the grilled asparagus with burrata and hazelnut gremolata. It was pretty good, but the asparagus ends were woody. My companion had the scallops served with roasted mushrooms and an onion risotto, topped with a bacon soubise sauce and crispy leeks. It was tasty, but it is a very heavy preparation for scallops. I think they were a bit lost in all the rest of the food on the plate. We ended with a very nice and creamy key lime pie.So in summary, the serving sizes are quite large. The food is fine. The service is attentive. There was nothing that would particularly make me want to return, but if someone else wanted to eat there, it would also be okay.

I had a wonderful date night experience at the food market. Everything we ordered was hot and delicious. The wait staff were really nice, I never went too long without water in my cup, and the food came out almost as fast as we could order it. We had several different appetizers as well as their specialty lemonade and it all came to just under $100. There isn't really a dish that I WOULDN'T recommend, but my fiance and I both agree that the cream of crab soup and the Crab Dip Potatoes stole the show and sealed the deal that we will absolutely be back to eventually try everything on the menu.

Love the food! I love that the menus change each season. The food always maintains its flavor. Service can be kind of slow and long wait times depending on the day; however, I will continue to be a customer.

Our meal was excellent and service was great. The heath bar crunch bread pudding is probably the best bread pudding I've ever had. Can't wait for the new outdoor patio and bar to open.

We came here to celebrate a milestone for a friend of ours and throughly enjoyed this place. We were a party of 6 people and we each got something different to try. I'll try to cover all key points in this review starting from the parking situation.1. THE PARKING: slightly confusing for people as there for 4 cars wondering how to get to the Food Market from the garage in the back of the building. There was also a parking lot across the street, that's where we parked with no issue. There are steps that lead to the main entrance of the place but it looks very modern and not like a restaurant upon first glance. Reservation was for 7:45pm and they seated us promptly once our party arrived.2. THE SERVICE: Boris our server did an excellent job with our table by offering recommendations, being attentive and clearing our table as we finished certain dishes, throwing in a joke or two, followed by a compliment. The food/drinks arrived surprisingly quickly, as it took all of about 10 minutes for both of drinks and appetizers, then our main courses followed shortly. Followed by dessert for me and a complimentary dessert for our friend. They even ask you at the beginning of the visit if you're celebrating anything special and put a card on the table to alert your server. Boris did a wonderful job making sure to check on us but not too much and refill our water without having to ask. Thank you for impeccable service!3. THE FOOD/DRINKS: They bring you popcorn. We ordered a variety of different dishes and everyone loved what they ordered. We also had recommendations/confirmations of our choices by Boris which helped. I ordered the cheesesteak buns, the Lil lamb chops, cream of crab soup with $10 worth of extra lump real crab meat, steak frites and my girlfriend got the big ole' mozzarella sticks (huge with epic cheese pull) and a burger which were all delicious. The only thing I would say is the soup is warm but the extra crab meat is cold, so when you put it in the soup it makes it cold, but you get a generous portion of extra. For our drinks we got the Gucci lemonade with a shot of tequila as it comes virgin. Our friends for a lemon drop with a shot of tequila and Jack's Hard Cider which they liked. I ended the night with dessert Heath bar crunch bread pudding which was delectable! Also Chad's dirt cup pudding with gummy worms and Oreo crumble both of which I'm glad I got to-go because when I got home it was still very good but it arrives hot so just be prepared to eat it there if you can. Our friend got the duck parts4. THE ATMOSPHERE: This place was really chill and casual, even the servers are wearing normal attire so you sometimes get confused when people like Boris come over and start helping with your table because they don't have uniforms on the floor but the kitchen staff does. The Ambiance here was nice and I really enjoyed the Aesthetics of the front counter setup. Unfortunately I was unable to snap a picture in time of the front counter setup but it was all beautifully done. When we first arrived there was a bit of hustle and bustle but towards the later end of the night it died down and it was not super busy but still an enjoyable experience. The place has large windows so you can see outside which will be great for the spring and summer and overall this is a place that I would gladly return to try other items again. 9 out of 10 highly recommend if you are in the area or able to come check it out. Everyone here was very respectful and quippy with jokes and good conversation as they are serving you. The food is plated well, service is excellent and speedy, atmosphere is chill ?5. PRICE: Prices here aren't bad but if you're like me and want to try a bunch of items they add up quickly, so prepare to part with a decent amount for your experience including great tipping because they deserve it. Boris was really on top of things and we all appreciated that! See pictures for reference if you're curious and want to see how everything was :) it's always a pleasure to revie

I really wanted to give 5 stars here, we sat at the bar and the bar tender was amazingly fun and attentive. The main entrées everyone had was great! The sides of plain potatoes didn't match the energy of everything else and they were quickly cold and boring by the time you ate some of them. The Apps were all great, and get the lump benedict, just ask for a substitute for the potatoes. Again the bartender is fantastic, she mixed amazing drinks for our group. Really close.

I went for Happy Hour and within minutes the bar was packed. Bartenders were very polite and attentive. My drink was pretty tasty, after 2 I was ‘nice’ ??‍♀️ The food was tasty and came out very quickly. I ordered the garlicky shrimp and the mussels. I will say the mussels are definitely enough for two people. If you want bar seating I suggest being at the door at 4 when they open.

We had a reservation on a Friday night, but grabbed a spot at the bar because service is always attentive. We were in town and loved that the menu was so Veggie forward! Most places have the exact same offerings, little flavor and if lucky offer salad, potato and asparagus... This place was buzzing. Very fast. Great drinks, spicy edamame, a cabbage dish, street corn styled cauliflower and some other great sides. Very well sized, didn't break the bank. Tons of flavor. Would be a go to spot if we lived here.

We absolutely loved our experience at the Food Market in Columbia. The food was exquisite, and the portions were perfect for a date night or a group outing. So many They split their menu into a "little", "small" and "large" section that allows you to decide if you want to just get a classic app and meal, or if you want to split a bunch of tapas-sized plates that sport a variety of food styles and backgrounds. We highly recommend the Salt and Pepper tuna dish.We came here to kick off our first anniversary of marriage, and they treated us very well. Any table that is celebrating something is marked with a little card that gets you some sort of comped item. We received a glass of bubbly and a free dessert. So kind! Our server was very nice and was knowledgeable about wine pairings and what to get for each round. We will be coming back here!Dietary restrictions: They are very conscious about gluten-free diets. They say almost any dish can be modified with notice.

Went here for my birthday...it was fabulous. I am sad I forgot to take pictures. Everything was so good. Got the mozzarella and mussels for appetizer, both did not disappoint. For dinner I got the crab cake with lobster Mac n cheese....wow, this was soooo good. Hubby got a burger and said it was really good and juicy. Loved the sauce! The wait staff was nice and very efficient. The restaurant was nice and modern. Odd location but definitely worth a trip. This place is a go to for delicious comfort food!
