We came for their Sunday brunch. Things to Note: * The restaurant is located at the Columbia Mall. There are plenty of parking spaces, but it doesnt mean they are available. Get there a little earlier to account for finding a space and walking to the restaurant. * They have patio seating, indoor seating, bar seating, and high top seating. * They have individual bathrooms vs gender specific bathrooms. Two key takeaways: a) the bathrooms were clean b) the toilet tissue was a nice texture. Food: * The Walrus Breakfast included toast, sausage, bacon, eggs, and potatoes. This is a simple yet filling breakfast. Special shout out to the potatoes. They roasted the potatoes with sun-dried tomatoes. The two ingredients together are magical. * Cornbread Waffles: The cornbread waffle was okay. The blueberry compost, graham cracker crumbs, and whipped cream made this dish very desserty and too sweet for breakfast. * Shrimp and Grits: This dish was A+. It is definitely hearty and seasoned well. * Stone Ground Yellow Grits: I ordered a side of regular grits. It was cooked the way grits is suppose to taste...savory. Very good. Bottomless cocktails Uniquely, this restaurant doesn't offer bottomless mimosas; they offer bottomless cocktails. You get to choose between four cocktails and we drank them all. Please forgive me for not writing down all the cocktail names. Know that they are distinct, made with different liquors, and are a nice collection together. The bar was really slow; so when our first drink came, we put in the order for the next drink. We experienced excellent service from our server. She was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The Walrus and Ale House has officially been added to my brunch rotation. If you are in the Columbia area, come check them out.

My husband and I finally went for the first time to try the happy hour specials. The restaurant and bar area are beautiful. We sat at the bar, and were quickly greeted by Nadir, who took care of us from start to finish. He explained the menu, drink and food specials, and everything in between. We selected the happy hour oysters which were amazing, wines and beers, and then went on to share the miso glazed salmon which was delicious. We will be back for the service, food, quality, and overall atmosphere!

The only word I can think of to explain the experience is prenominal! Definitely recommend the lump crab dip, the deviled eggs but substitute the oyster for a fried shrimp! 10 out of 10! I had the shrimp and grits for my main meal and OH MY GOODNESS flavor in every bite! If you don't like spicy I wouldn't recommend because It has a kick to it. The corn bread is delicious. So soft and buttery. Also, the blackberry margarita. I was not disappointed with anything. Not the food, not the service. My husband had the lobster roll he said it was good. My son had the grilled chicken sandwich and he loved it. Our server name was and I hope I'm saying this correctly. Anthony. he is the best! I'm upset because I was so hungry I didn't even think to take photos. But trust this is a place you want to go!!

First time dining at The Walrus and so glad we did! We stopped for lunch and were seated right away. Our server Sylvin was great! He was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and gave us excellent oysters and food recommendations. We started with the oysters sampler and it was delicious. For the main course we shared blackened scallops and Mahi Mahi special and both dishes were on point. Everything was fresh, flavorful and well seasoned. The restaurant is spacious and has nice vibe and ambiance. We'll definitely be back for dinner to try other things on the menu.

Okay place. Nothing negative to say but nothing stood out.

Shoot & Roll . Lively venue with long table sets, ideal for large parties. Find yourself a perfectly buttered up lobster roll pairing nicely with a spicy oyster shooter at the edge of The Mall of Columbia. Not a seafoodie?...highly rec the mushroom flatbread - tho sadly didn't snap a pic bc hands snatched faster!! - Lobster Roll - so buttered up. - Campfire S'more - flames on a plate, say less (: - Plank Salmon (zoomed) - veggies had that perfect crunch to complement the soft salmon. - Kentucky Butter Cake - drinkable glazed Bourbon...lol . Our party of 7 was easily seated upon arrival and were well attended to. Good food with great friends is always a fun mem. . cheers! (:

We were in the area and I convinced the family to go here. The $16 calamari and fried oyster appetizers were TINY. Two of the oysters were not shucked well and I was left with a mouth full of grit. I had to swish water several times to wash it out of my mouth. Daughter wanted to share lamb and I reluctantly agreed since she was going to share her fish and chips with me. Ordered the lamb medium rare, and it came out completely raw in the middle. Told the waitress and showed her the 2 chops I had cut open which showed they were raw. No apology was offered, she just said she would bring me a new dish. Manager came over 5 minutes later to ask if everything was good. He was about to leave without saying anything, so I told him I had to send the lamb back as it was raw. Then he replied, yes that’s why I came over even though he was going to walk away until I said something. Lamb came back and it was the same lamb I cut open to show them it was raw, even though waitress specifically said she’d bring me a new dish. Check came and there was no adjustment for the screwup. I don’t need the entire meal for free, but take off the lamb at least. Or comp one of the appetizers or send over a free dessert; any small token would have been appreciated. No gesture was made, just an “apology” from the manager who couldn’t care a less. He didn’t even acknowledge us as we left even though we passed right by him on our way out. Any restaurant worth a damn would have been embarrassed and trying to make up for their mistake. I still tipped 15%, which is my minimum for a meal out; usually I tip 20-25% but no way I was doing that this time. Worst $200 I’ve spent in a while. I’ve had plenty of far superior meals for half the price. If you’re looking for a legit seafood restaurant, do yourself a favor and skip this place. It’s a glorified mall restaurant and the food and customer service is second rate.

From the food service to the meals it was a 10/10 experience . My family and I were looking for a fresh seafood spot we have never been before and I stumbled upon this place. We had an excellent service! And servers always get extra points from me when they allow me to place an early meal for my daughter . Our waiter was so kind and friendly! This place is busy but they still got our food out in a fashionable amount of time. The drinks are absolutely delicious!! The place its self has a low- lighting, comfortable setting and is family friendly. I definitely recommend everyone try this place whether local or visiting the area . I also recommend the seafood linguini my scallops where cooked to Perfection

$30 Red Snapper Special?? 8oz at the most minus 2 oz of skin, not worth the price. Menu said $28 and was getting charged $2 extra for a kids size portion of fish. Food needs more flavor, corn bread had good flavor. Best option is the lunch specials, if anything. Make sure you check your bill.

Great place for happy hour, beer selection is solid, service is nice but not super responsive. Happy hour food menu can't be beat, oysters, deviled eggs, walrus sliders (not real walrus) ;-) good stuff. If the weather is nice, they have an area that opens up to the outside with garage type doors.

We came here for happy hour. The service from our waiter was very friendly and attentive. All of the food was delicious especially the raw oysters.

I was able to revisit this restaurant and am updating my rating and review. I appreciated working with Wayne and Christopher. The food is consistently delicious! The chef is amazing! The cocktails are unique and tasty. This visit, all courses came out in a timely manner. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend a visit to the Walrus & Oyster for a casual meal or a special occasion.

The food has always been very good. I especially love their fresh fish, curly spinach, and balsamic glazed carrots. The service is okay. However, today we had above and beyond service from Kiara. She was top-tier from beginning to end.

Food was a disappointment compared to the National Harbor location! Definitely not the same chef. Try the wings, crabs cakes and oysters, all a plus!!
