Service is amazing and all the servers are very patient! The food was delicious and they have normal Spanish brunch food. Definitely would recommend!
Sometimes seems like they are still trying to find their stride with their menu changes. But most of their food is flavorful and makes you want to go back for more. Chips and salsa aren't free, but worth getting, as are the margaritas (stick to the menu, not the specials). Not usually a wait for dinner, but Friday and Saturday nights are usually a bit more crowded and loud. Most of the staff seems to be English as a second language, so when it is loud it can sometimes be hard to get your orders correct.
I am incredibly disappointed to write this, as I've heard such good things about this spot. My company recently moved to Columbia and chose Xitomate as our first big happy hour spot. Unfortunately from the minute we walked in the door we got terrible, snarky service. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt and stayed really cheery, but was met with eye rolls and a laugh (“really??â€) when we said we would need separate checks. Even then- I said “don't worry, we'll take care of you!â€. The server was just nasty, ultimately, to the point that once almost all of us were there- we left and went across the street to Victoria. And yes, we did tell them why we were leaving. Xitomate was EMPTY when we got there and when we left, Victoria packed, and for good reason, apparently. We were greeted with excellent service, food, and no grief at Victoria. I'm happy our $300 check went elsewhere. I've heard the food at Xitomate is great, but sadly won't find out for myself.
Authentic Mexican food is Awesome! Options for vegans and vegetarians. House made guacamole is made fresh to order...the only place where I'll order guacamole. House margaritas are a must. Outdoor seating is dog friendly
Xitomate was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants when it opened, but menu changes and consistently average-at-best quality has lowered the frequency of my visits. I've found the brisket dishes to always be extremely fatty, though the steak tips are usually good. It's a shame because the brisket enchiladas used to be one of my favorite dishes but I don't order any of their brisket anymore since it always seems to be largely fat. With that said, the chicken dishes and burritos are still good. A large tequila selection is a plus for drinkers. Worth a try if you're in the mood for Mexican.
Good local Mexican food. Tacos al pastor are always tasty.
Food is great but service is spotty. Took 1/2 hour before taking order and then another 1/2 hour before getting drinks. Had to ask another server for water and chips/salsa.
Breakfast burrito
Best all around dishes! Gotta do the margaritas and guacamole
Brunch is good. Loved the huevos motulenos. Enjoyed my tequila sunrise.

Aftermath of the Chesapeake guacamole! So good!
Try the guac! The steak fajitas were delicious too. If you want cheese with your fajitas its an extra $2...lame
Filet with wine sauce burrito is amazing.
Filete de res burrito is the way to go. Don't forget the guac!
