I ordered their Ethiopia, Guatemala, and oyster reef grounds, I loved each of them. They have an amazing process for their coffee that the owner explained to me when I visited and was an awesome person to talk to. Great company and great coffee 100% would recommend

First time visiting, they walked me through their roasts, let me try some espresso, and was able to buy some high quality beans. Proper cafe is supposed to be coming soon. There is no big sign, only on the door so it was not the easiest to find.

I love stopping at small businesses and coffee shops I’ve never been. I was in the area and did a google search for coffee places and this one came up with great ratings. While the Roastery is an actual building behind the coffee truck, it’s not yet equipped to handle customers inside so the truck serves two purposes: they serve DELICIOUS coffee (hot, iced, espresso etc), as well as serve a variety of whole bean coffees from different countries that benefit Bird Friendly Smithsonian. I love anything that benefits a good cause and Honduras is near and dear to my heart so not only did I get an awesome latte; peppermint mocha I believe, I picked up some whole bean coffee! Highly recommend stopping for some coffee and saying hi. Looking forward to them opening their cafe one day.

Coffee is awesome but they need a better system for online shipping. It takes forever for them to ship product. We live in Towson and it takes at least a week to get product. Was told the wholesale orders are more important than online orders. Not the best way to keep customers happy! * Follow up on this review. The last 5lb bag of sumatra was delivered in 2 days. Thank you.

Excellent coffee! I was visiting from Minneapolis and happened upon this place. I bought the Ethiopian blend and am drinking it now. It's a light roast but full of flavor! I'm so thrilled I can order it online and have it every morning!

We just received the Dark Sumatra yesterday. Amazing aroma, nice earthly notes, and this coffee bloomed more than any other of the thousands of pour overs I’ve prepared. Thanks to the folks at Chesapeake for your integrity and commitment to roasting superb coffee.

Chesapeake Coffee Roasters is based in Crofton, Maryland, from where one can get beans and ground coffee. There are also many retail shops, grocery stores, and cafe partners in the area that carry the coffee. I was impressed with the focus on the environmental and bird friendly approach and with the Maryland and bird/wildlife themed artwork on the cans and packs. The international 'flavor' of the company is represented by beans from Kenya, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Idonesia, Honduras, and Guatemala. I was at first surprised to see the state bird, the Baltimore Oriole, on a can of beans from Guatemala, but on looking into information on the bird, I learned that it spends its winters in parts of Central America, including Guatemala. Currently, there is a seasonal spring light roast blend with beautiful pink tulips on the label. The blends themselves combine global ciffee sources as for example the aromatic River's Edge dark roast picturing a great blue heron, commonly seen along our rivers and shores, contains beans from Africa, Central America, and Indonesia. Apparently, one may still see product with their old name, "Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company," and one needs to be aware that there are other companies using "Chesapeake" in their name. The bird and Maryland themed cans are collectible for their artwork as well as useful for storing pasta, grains, and other kitchen staples, an all-around win.

Thought I’d give their Sunset Decaf a try. They indicate it’s a medium roast with a flavor profile of vanilla & toffee. Brewed a cup on my V60 and unfortunately there’s nothing medium roasted about it. Clearly dark roasted and bitter taste. Disappointed ☹️

Decent varieties of coffee available for pickup or at select local farmers market and grocery stores.

Just crushed a latte at the food truck after dropping my son off at daycare and it was awesome! Way better than Dunkin Donuts and a good local business to support! Probably drank it too fast haha

Tried the bird friendly Guatemala because the roast dates at Whole Foods on my usual brand were not as new I wanted. Have tried many other brands and always went back to my old faithful, Mass Appeal by Ceremony, after trying this from Chesapeake, I may have a new #1. Have yet to try it as espresso but as our Monday-Friday pour-over standard coffee my wife and I agree that it is very good. The bird friendly aspect is great as well. I had read about this initiative through the National Zoo, and am proud to support it by buying this coffee.
