Sadly, everything changes these days. I have went to this restaurant since I was 17 years old. I am 70 years old now. We loved going there. But the last few times, and especially last week it was ruined forever. I can never go back. There was a very nice hostess waitress who has been there for 26 years. But the waitress who brought our food was horrible. She was rude and had a very ugly attitude. When the nice waitress stopped by, I asked her how was it that she was so nice and the other girl was so rude. She just smiled kindly. But the other waitress would not come by, give us drink, bring us ketchup, or give us any service. We had to ask a man who was working at a table. And to my surprise, he was as rude and unkind as the girl. We asked him why we couldn't get any service and he flew off the handle. I told him the waitress was very rude and had an ugly attitude and he flipped on us again. I asked to speak to the owner and he yelled that he was the owner. I was just shocked--I was an owner of a business for 27 years and I couldn't believe an owner would treat someone this way. I told him that we had been coming there since I was 17, but it didn't matter. He continued to embarrass us in front of other customers. I questioned him if he really was the owner, and he yelled, "You don't believe me? Why, because I'm young and white?" I was beyond shocked. I wanted to tell him, "No, it is because you are really rude, and that being white or young had nothing to do with it, but at this point-I simply said, "We are not having this conversation." Others, tried to calm him down, but his anger was off the wall as he tore into my brother and my husband. I never even got to ask him what had happened to their food. I was supposed to get a grilled pork chop. It was not grilled, was fatty, and bland, tough and tasteless. The ground steak, my husband got was horrible and the French fries were cold. We had already decided with the quality of the food being so bad and the prices that had gone up considerably since our last visit, that we probably would not come back. But it is hard to quit going to a place that you loved to go to. But after being treated that way, we can never go back. It is a very sad thing and I think the original owners would be very disappointed to see that their restaurant has turned into this.

This place is lost in time. Your basic greasy spoon diner that serves really good home cooked meals for super cheap. I had the two pork chop dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans for $10.50. Anywhere else would be double that for the same meal. Looks like the decor has not changed since it opened (1970’s?) and the clientele were all seniors. Good place to eat if you are on a fixed income. Service was fine but the tables are fairly packed together making it feel a bit cramped. Ignore reviews that claim they were overcharged. This place should be applauded for not gouging their customers. Worth a try if staying in Cumberland.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly for small children

The food here was delicious! If you're looking for a true home-cooked meal, this is your place. The portions were plentiful and the prices were unbeatable! The staff were all super friendly as were the other people there eating. We were here from out of town for a car show at the Gap and everyone wanted to talk to us about that and we're friendly in doing so.We'll definitely make an effort to stop back here when we're back in the area.

My husband and I are visiting here from SC. I googled restaurants and saw this one and we decided to try it because of the ratings and WOW our food was awesome! My roast beef sandwich could not have been better. AND they had Graham Cracker Cream pie! I haven't had that in 50 years. Great food, good service and a great price. I highly recommend Lindy's!

Over charged for what we got, and the service was mediocre at best. Asked for an explanation of charges on the bill, and our server couldn't figure out why the bill was as high as it was. Would not recommend.
