This is probably my last time here, they never speak english and won't tell you they are out of something until after you pay. When I got there the lights were off, because they are on sensors and the person hadn't moved until I walked in. I would love to catch it when the food is fresh.. you would think on a Sunday after church I would luck up.

It hurts to say, but this location has fallen off drastically.

I’m sure it comes with great pressure being the only true vegan spot in town and I don’t think a lot of people are cut out for that. Respectfully.

Another major downside here is that the people that you guys hire don’t speak a lick of english...

Which doesn’t help AT ALL in a predominantly urban area. Though we still have respect for them. It would help to be able to communicate.

I say all of this as someone who truly enjoys this franchise.

Hopefully this message finds you well and you seek to make improvements in the near future.

The food was so disappointing, I threw most of it away. I’ve had vegan food all around the DMV area and this was the worst I’ve had. I order the fried mushroom oysters but they ran out, so I opted for the BBQ vegan ribs with the seafood mac and garlic kale. As well, I ordered a side of the General Tso’s cauliflower with rice. Everything looked good but taste was not good. The General Tso’s sauce smelled like cleaning fluid or weird smell that was off-putting and tasted just like it smelled. The ribs weren’t good either. Only food I could tolerate were the seafood mac and kale greens, which were okay. Very upsetting and won’t be back here!

The food has been going down for a minute. It's almost consistently bad and unpredictable now. I keep giving them a chance and get let down each time. Sometimes it's hella salty, and other times it's just nasty. Some of the staff aren't really connected with the food, and can't tell me anything more than what I see/ read on the menu.

When you all first opened at this location the food was good. The food quality has really gone down. It’s sad that you have people working there that don’t speak English. Your customer population mostly speaks English. I only like the drumettes now. The greens are bland. I bought fried mushrooms last night they were not good. The young lady put to many in the basket at one time, causing them not to be fully cooked. I hope you all improve. As I mentioned before it was really good at one time.

If I could give a 0 I would. I have come here over some time and it has seriously gone downhill. I try to patronize this business but I just can't waste my money anymore. I went there and no food was on the line and this was at 3:30 in the afternoon! And every time I go it is just one person working or I guess not working because there was no food. They need to just close. Please go somewhere else for vegan food.

I was in the neighborhood recently and excited to discover Dodah’s Vegan Kitchen. As someone who is plant-based/vegan, I was eager to give it a try. I ordered the sides platter, choosing the mushroom salad as my main side along with the sweet kale salad and collard greens. Every dish was flavorful, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. I had leftovers for a couple of days, which was great.

Where I think there’s room for improvement is in the customer service experience. There was only one staff member working, and although the restaurant wasn’t busy at the time, there was no greeting when I entered. The thick glass barriers in front of the food also made it a bit difficult to hear and communicate.

I believe small touches can go a long way—like acknowledging guests when they arrive, asking if it’s their first time, offering guidance on popular dishes, or suggesting samples without waiting to be asked. Those personal interactions help make customers feel welcome and more inclined to return. Unfortunately, I felt like I was a bit of a bother when trying to ask questions or get a better feel for the menu.

That said, I did sample the mac & cheese and the plantains. Both were delicious, and I’d definitely consider trying them if I come back in the future.

All in all, the food was fantastic, and with a few adjustments to the customer experience, this spot could be a favorite.

Food was delicious and fresh. I had the fried oyster mushrooms and they came out steaming hot and crunchy. I don’t eat fried food often and they were so good! I had the collard greens; they had just the right amount of seasoning with a slight vinegar taste that was scrumptious. Last I had my favorite, cabbage! They mixed it in with sliced peppers and onions. I love cabbage and served peppery like this is soo yummy!

Service: 1 star off because the staff was in the kitchen and the self service kiosk was not working correctly so I had to flag down the staff to get their attention. Once they came up front, they were really nice. And the cook made the best fried oyster mushrooms.

Atmosphere: clean and I love the plants. It’s a spot for a quick lunch. The bathroom was also really clean with a nice air dryer that worked well. *I only give 5 stars to sexy places I go for date night or chill places I can sit and read for hours.

Bro I've come many times and I don't know what happened today but the mack and cheese was DISGUSTING. I almost threw up up on first bite, the smell was horrendous I had to let the windows down on the car ride home. I need a refund immediately, $50 for 2 plates of completely inedible food after eating here 100+ times

Went there this past weekend and tried them for the first time!!! Was greeted soon as I walked in. A tough bag lady that was waiting for her order said I had to try the seafood Mac and cheese and she wasn’t wrong. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The good brother running the store also let me try a few other sides. All were amazing so I had to choose but I wanted to try all of them. I got the vegan drumettes, with the vegan ribs, seafood Mac and cheese and the collard greens. All tasted AMAZING!!!! I also ordered the mint tea and the ginger tea. Amazing. This was the Newark, De location on Main Street. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for hospitality and the great food.

Disappointed. I placed an Uber order for the District Heights location and didn’t receive what I ordered. My order was for lasagna, candied yams and mac/cheese. Someone from the restaurant called to say that there was no mac/cheese but was sending seafood mac/cheese instead. When my order arrived there was no candied yams and the mac/cheese did not have seafood in it. I received some kind of kale salad

Will not be ordering from the MD - District Heights location again. Ordered Mac/cheese and they didn’t have any. Order candied yams and didn’t receive. They sent kale salad instead.

I went today and was assisted by Delba. I hope I spelled her name correct. She's always pleasant and never had any issues with her. I give her 5 thumbs up.

Every time I go to Dodah's, always make sure Delba is there. I get the best service from her, even though communication can be challenging.
