Shady Oak my not be the "place to be" but it's the place to be for the upper Marlboro, district heights, forestville area. Erica the bartender is friendly and makes the best drinks. You'll find many locals and regulars. They have a juke box, a couple pool tables and tables for customers. For the area it's a nice chill spot to hang out at.

I came across a really cool off the beaten path bar back in February of this year. I was very surprised this establishment had pretty good food like wings, fried fish, and onion rings. What I like most was the funky jukebox, which I love. It's kid friendly too during the day or bring your out of town guest. No pets allowed but the wild do come out for happy hour to shoot pool and take up puffing cigars in the well-lit parking lot.

this spot is really easily overlooked and hey, it's a pretty sweet spot considering it being a few mins from my home. cheap drinks, cheap food, loud music, and tv right up front of the bar. Pool? dance floor? Hey, i'm definitely not complaining.

The remodeling and the staff are nice. But the music is always up so high we have to shout to hear each other. We asked to turn it down once (at 6pm on a Tuesday - not late-night party hours), but were told the owner wouldn't allow it. The food is fine, but they are often out of the items we want. We used to go here regularly, but now we are looking for alternatives. Which is sad, because we've been going there for years.

The pool tables don’t work...the crowd isn’t energy....the staff act like they are accustomed to working at a terrible bar...not enough TVs to watch sports. I will NEVER go back here. I’m thankful I didn’t try the food because the rest of the experience was terrible to say the least. I should have just stayed home with my bottle at least it wouldn’t have been $30.

I like the renovations that were made. They didn't have crab balls that day and I am not sure if they still serve them at all. They were a favorite of mine. The people were friendly and the cook were helpful. Not so sure about the new owner/ management. I'll give them another try

Hello all I went here on Monday 10/7/19..I had the best time everrrrr. Soon as I walked thru the door everyone turned towards me and greeted me with a hello...I felt like a Queen walking in there and yes I was totally surprised...I sat at the bar next to Karen whom I might add introduced me to everyone as they came in there and her husband as well...The bartender Tricia was just so amazing and fixed me a strong drink California Lemon and the food was fantastic nice and hot...My expierence was fantastic no complaints from me...Will be back Thursday for Karaoke Night...
