It's a dive bar but appeared clean. There is a pool table and a liquor store attached. I did not witness any rifraf, prices reasonable and I really enjoyed my conversation with the bar maid. We were there on a weekend night for a quick stop for 2 beers. I would go back.
With my brother in from Florida we decided to try Costas which I had heard was good for crabs. It turned out to be a great choice…..as I had reserved 1 1/2 dozen of the biggest crabs they had. Perfect seasoning and waitress was in the kitchen as they came out of the steamer. My daughter had the crab cake sandwich which she loved and we started with the clams casino which was also very good. Service was great and the atmosphere allowed casual conversation without having to yell...
We like basic, well-cooked food. No squid ink linguini for us! Costa's has friendly service and a come-as-you-are environment. Excellent downhome food. Great seafood and sides, but also basics like meatloaf and pork chops. The crab imperial was luscious and full of large, plump pieces of crab. Sides like baked potatoes, mushrooms, mac and cheese were hearty portions and very reasonably priced. Lots of serving staff. The steak was tender.
