A Complete Disaster — Do Not Hire Blue Heron Catering
Blue Heron Catering handled my son’s wedding, and the experience was absolutely unacceptable from start to finish. The staff was shockingly unprofessional and rude. I personally witnessed them removing plates from the trash near the food service area to reuse — an appalling and unsanitary practice. They were also serving food with their gloved hands instead of using proper utensils, and much of the food was served cold.
The so-called “Chesapeake chicken” had a terrible odor, and the charcuterie display was left sitting outside in 80-degree heat — a clear health hazard. To make matters worse, at the end of the event, their staff threw away the leftover wedding cake, cupcakes, the bride’s bouquet, and even the groom’s vow book — items that were deeply personal and irreplaceable.
We paid $10,000 for catering services and expected professionalism, sanitation, and care. Instead, we were met with incompetence and indifference. When we brought these serious issues to Blue Heron’s attention, their response was patronizing, dismissive, and full of excuses. Their attempt at “compensation” — a free anniversary dinner — was frankly insulting given the magnitude of their failures.
I would not trust Blue Heron Catering to handle even a small backyard event, let alone something as meaningful as a wedding. Their blatant disregard for food safety, client property, and basic professionalism was beyond disappointing — it was disgraceful.

Holiday meal carry out was exceptional. Easy to order on line, pickup and affordable. The turkey stuffing was the star and the traditional spread made guests mouths water. More than enough to feed all and instructions were simple easy to follow. New tradition, allow Blue Heron Catering to tackle the feast while I truly enjoy my family & friends.

Ordered one of the Easter Dinner selections Blue Heron Catering was offering. Ham, Mac and Cheese, Scalloped Potatoes, Spinach Salad with strawberries and candied pecans, and asparagus. IT WAS AMAZING! I added the carrot cake cupcakes and peanut butter eggs. Also, wonderful choices. The staff were so friendly and helpful when we picked up the day before. This could not have been more perfect. I can't wait to see what other holiday specials they might offer! Also, if I have an event that I need catered, Blue Heron will be my first call!

Kendall, her mom and staff were an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. Their food is absolutely amazingly delicious and we wish they had a restaurant, we love it so much! They supplied bartenders and wait staff and all were absolutely professional, friendly and made our day even more enjoyable and left us with less worry! We continue to receive compliments on the scrumptious meal and heavy hors d’oeuvres they made! It’s also important to note that we had special requests such as temperature for the steak and certain substitutions, and they made it happen with ease!
