Today was a very bad day for Sugar Buns Cafe. And for my husband and me. The lone waitress was slow though very sweet. The tables weren’t being bussed - and the food !!! … I had two scrambled eggs with cheese and the first bite tasted like mold. I took another bite and was convinced it was. I ordered Texas toast (twice because apparently she used invisible ink or something to write the order) and got white toast - the first and only bite of which tasted like rancid butter, a huge scoop of which was also floating on the extra crunchy grits. The ONLY redeeming thing on my plate was the ham. Add to that a $5 tea bag and a dozen grapes which made up the $4 “fruit cup” and you get an experience like no other. The waitress did take care of my meal which was appreciated. The icing on the cake (which we would not even try) were the filthy bathrooms with wet floors and seat. No charm to be found here and will NEVER return.
Good diner food in an unexpected place. Definitely get the Sugar Buns - they are big enough to be shareable. Enjoy watching the planes takeoff and land. Nothing fancy but good.

This place is amazing. Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever eaten. Not sure what it was, EB or the hollandaise sauce, but it was fantastic. For a breakfast stop on the way to OC or a place to eat in the area, just go. 5 stars!!
Great place to fly in for breakfast. Cute little restaurant in the terminal. Food and service were both good.

This is a small Cafe at a local airport with no scheduled airline service. This Cafe has been very good in the past, but unfortunately it wasn't this time. I had their pancake special with 2 pancakes, sausage Patty and scrambled eggs. I asked for just a few fried onions in the eggs as well. The food came out pretty quick and our waitress was very prompt and quite pleasant. The atmosphere is pretty lack luster, no special motif, missing a great chance to put some aviation posters or similar. The cafe looks out toward the short time airplane parking area as well as the taxi way and runway. I guess this could be considered their atmosphere, but there was nothing to see the entire time we were there. We were there for brunch at about 11:00 AM.Now the food. The pancakes looked good on the plate with a silver dollar sized scoop of refrigerated butter on top. It took a while to get that butter to soften so it could be spread. The only problem was they had very little taste! The majority of favor came from the spase syurp. It was almost like eating a rice cake with a pancake texture. The sausage Patty wS about 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter and only about 3/8 of an inch thick. It had ok flavor, but it was tough like it had been warming on the grill too long, like it was pre-cooked and finally had a customer order. The eggs were ok, nothing special , but plentiful. They did a good job on the amount of onions, just a few to give the eggs a little different flavor profile, and they were done nicely.Summary. Not too bad, but not what we went there for. The prices were a bit expensive, as expected from past visits due mainly to its small size, only about 25 seats. Was there anything wrong here? No, just that I was looking for a better flavor experience as in the past. Two pancake breakfast specials and one coffee was $43.00!! We left a 20% tip, which brought the total to $50. After getting back in the car, we were wondering why the price was higher than we thought, so we looked closer to the receipt and found they charged me $5 for the few onions I requested in my eggs!!!! That was really the only bad thing and combined with so so food might make return trips to this cafe, unlikely.
