Lots of vegan bread choices, some delicious sweets, and a tasty tofu sandwich. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-16
Best bakery in Annapolis, hands down. This location in particular is great because it has plenty of seating and a decent amount of room when there’s a line. The staff is friendly and the pastries, sandwiches, and sweet treats are all top notch. The place to go if you’re looking for a breakfast sandwich or any baked goods in general.

There are no real words to describe how delicious everything is. From their sourdough bread to their crumble cake. Some of the best baked goods I've ever eaten in my life and fresh. Brooke is an absolute gem and I appreciate her time

This was my second visit to this bakery, and it was just as great as the first. The staff are incredibly welcoming, making the whole experience feel like home. I requested a few modifications to the caprese and it resulted in one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Truly terrific food and vibes—a perfect 10/10

I’m telling you now just go. The blueberry lemon scones, maple pumpkin muffins, and cranberry walnut loaf are pure perfection. Every item was bursting with flavor. I could tell that they use quality ingredients and the presentation of the baked goods made the drive worth the time. The customer service was also phenomenal.

Not to be dramatic, but aside from marrying my best friend and giving birth to my twins—discovering Black Market Bakers might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. From my very first visit, it was love at first bite: baked goods galore, the smell of sizzling bacon, and fresh coffee in the air—what more could you ask for?
But what truly sets them apart is the quality and deliciousness of their menu items but also their people. Can we talk about the PEOPLE?! The hospitality, the genuine warmth—it feels like stopping by a close friend’s home. They’re excited to see you and so happy you made it.
I’ll never stop supporting this place. The only thing that could make me visit even more often? A Bowie location. BMB team, please consider it. 🤍

It was my first time at the bakery. They were super busy but a friendly woman asked me if I needed any explanation about the pastries. She helped explain the ones I pointed at. I ordered the banana nut mascarpone muffin for me and a bacon, egg, and Gruyère cheese croissant. Everything was delicious from the butter cream frosting on top of my muffin to the fried egg and bacon on my husband’s croissant. The cashier was very welcoming & kind. My order was ready in less than a couple minutes. I highly recommend this as a hidden gem in Edgewater.

A little hectic on weekends, but honestly, you need time in line to fully grasp their daunting array of incredible baked goods. Some of the nicest, coolest folks making the best breakfast/lunch items around.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The bakery is so delicious and perfect!! The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable, and the business runs like a well-oiled machine! Although there is always a long line, the team works together smoothly, and everyone gets through quickly. Personnel will ask if you have questions while you are waiting in line. I live in Wisconsin, and I always make sure I make frequent visits when I am in Maryland - it is worth the trip!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Oh, and Aaron and LeAnn are my favorite employees!! I wish they had a bakery in Wisconsin!
I went back yesterday and tried the breakfast sandwich for the first time ever - AMAZING!! The cool thing about the breakfast sandwich is the varieties. I chose scrambled egg over fried, bacon rather than sausage, and no cheese (there are 4 cheese options: cheddar, pepper jack, gruyere, and American), on any kind of bread (I chose croissant). An awesome way to start your morning!!
