Oh God if I could give this place no stars I would. My food was horrible after my time got pushed back 3x for my delivery my food was cold, fish was soggy unseasoned, some fries was hard some was soggy, they sent me the wrong chicken which was also cold and unseasoned. When I say I will NEVER order from here again. High as my food was it was late, unseasoned, sent me plain wings instead of Old Bay and on top of that blue cheese when I clearly asked for ranch. A waste of $45 🙄

This is a classic "order at the counter and then enjoy yourself" place to eat. My party ordered and took a table. The Crabs were the best we've ever eaten and the rack of ribs and brisket was also fabulous!! We had a great time talking and laughing and sharing good food. It felt like a BBQ in our own backyard.

The staff was friendly and efficient. We had a great time we WILL be back!!

Parking: There is ample parking. We would also recommend all the BBQ menu items not listed on this review.

I got all you can eat crabs they never asked me once if I wanted more. They never once checked on us. The water tasted like metal. You have to serve yourself everything practically. Not for customers if you wanna relaxing night out. We had to get up multiple times to get our own napkins utensils butter etc. if you wanna wait yourself come here. Customer service is terrible. My husband got the crab dip it was all cream cheese. No lumps of meat at all.

I can’t tell you how absolutely disappointed my wife and I were with the food at Crab Shack Edgewater. We went for Buck A Wing Night and hated every single dish we ordered, accept the onion rings, which were actually very good. The wing meat was dry. The Cream of Crab Soup and New England Clam Chowder were both awful (so bad, we didn’t eat more than a few spoonfuls out of guilt for wasting our money on them.)

The Crab Dip on the Boardwalk Fries was a mostly solid mass of melted cheese than covered a thin layer of something that identified as crab dip in name only. (The fries by themselves might be good, but the “dip” had to be cut with a knife and fork.) Their Fried Clam Strips were made with over salted batter and were over cooked and gritty with sand. Their Steamed Clam Soft Shell Clams were filled with sand and mushy in a bad way. Throughout our meal, we never found an actual lump of crab meat — only a smattering of what might be crab meat or might be some other fish-based protein. We both agreed we’d never go back (unless we really wanted some good onion rings.)

The people that work there are nice and they get you your food as it becomes available. The atmosphere is probably great for tourists looking for that “crab house” feel with bright colored lights framing the view of the parking lot (not the waterfront, which is probably 3/4 of a mile away.)

They claim to have the “Best Crabcake,” if it’s anything like the rest of their “highly rated” food, I find that claim as hard to believe.

Parking: This place used to be a Burger King. They have typical fast food joint parking along either side and a few spaces near the road.

Such an awesome experience! Great fun atmosphere, awesome and attentive service! The food was absolutely delicious, the crab cake was 12/10, the fish and chips combo and crab dip were amazing! Even the greek salad was so good! Loved all the feta! Something for everyone and great selection of seafood! Sweet tea was also great!

Orders are taken at the counter and can be brought to the table or to go. The boiled shrimp was excellent even though it is a self-peel; however, the restaurant makes it for easy peeling. The hush puppies were very tasty. Sadly, the Maryland Crab Soup with "lump" crab was very disappointing. There were no lumps of crab, in fact it was difficult to find crab. The soup should have been called Vegetable Soup with Hints of Crab" or "Tomato Soup with Vegetables and Maybe Some Crab if You are Lucky" since there were a LOT of tomato chunks and other vegetables and just a few slivers of crab. Over all, it is a good place to eat. The service was prompt and very good with friendly personnel.

Circling back to leave my full review. Myself and a friend were in search of AYCE crabs. Once a bountiful option in Maryland has become rare and difficult to find. However, by chance this location popped up.

We were not disappointed, the crabs were meaty and heavy. The size were very reasonable. The experience was worth it, and even when a large party came in taking up half the establishment, we were not left wanting. An incredible staff. To those who drink, enjoy the orange crush.

I look forward to trying the soft shell clams if they have them next time.

Agree with other comments that the old white guy (manager) needs to improve his communication skills and attitude. Extremely arrogant and unwilling to help. Used to come a lot but will never come back again.

Crabs were light in weight and lightly seasoned. The food was ok. The customer service was cold. But the location does have tv's so you can watch sports.

This is for the seafood lover who is NOT looking for a fancy restaurant experience! They advertise the BEST crab cake in MD and - while I haven't checked out all the others, Crab Shack may have a legitimate claim! I enjoyed the "all lump backfin cake which came with fries and soft drink for only $24. Other diners were enjoying Steamed Crabs which seemed to be good sized and fairly priced!

I have visited the Crab Shack Edgewater in the past and found it to be average. My last visit was a different story as the local steamed crabs were EXCELLENT. I ordered a dozen large steamed steamed crabs ahead to be picked up in the evening. The crabs were ready on time, hot and the drive thru pick up was really easy and trouble free. We had family who came in from Florida and wanted Maryland crabs. The crabs were delicious, properly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Most important the crabs were local and not the sourced crabs from Louisiana, N.C., the Gulf or imported from who know where that many area crab houses serve. So kudos to The Crab Shack for serving local blue crabs and cooking them properly. We will be back more often.
