I frequented this marina a couple times for food and with a friend. The last time was pretty bad the cream of crab was cold & watery and lack seasoning. The manager stated it was because of the crab meat. Wow!!!! The bartender gave my friend attitude after the hostess said that she could sit at the bar self served. My friend just left and it was disappointing. My friend doesn’t like confrontation so I let it go for that time only. The kitchen seems to struggle with quality food especially during peak and opening times it’s very dissatisfying. The drinks are the only reason why I keep going and live band. Customer service needs help and temperature of food. I feel if I ever returned and I have issues with food temp especially the health department will be called.food safety should be the priority especially with kids eating there. Hopefully they do some self evaluation because deleting my comments isn’t going to keep me away or from telling the truth. The views are beautiful and it’s a nice location just poor details with customer service and food quality.

Food is better than average, the staff is always excellent, the view and atmosphere are fantastic and there's usually live music. One of our favorite spots to spend a summer evening.

Ironically, our summer weather took a break the day I visited The Island at Flying Point ... clouds, wind, rain, and temps in the lower 60s. That said, the view over the river is still beautiful in any weather, and the food was still delicious. There is plenty of parking, and the staff are friendly as well as efficient. There was a large pavilion where I could have sat out of the rain, but the wind at the point was chilly. Fortunately, there was a second floor small indoor bar near the entrance with four tables and a good view. I decided a summer-like drink would set the mood and therefore enjoyed a Blue Sour Patch with regular vodka, lemon vodka, triple sec, sprite, and muddled blueberries. The azure drink not only was refreshing but also helped me pretend that the sky today was just as blue. The Island Crab Chowder had lump crab meat and corn with a rich, creamy soup broth. The combination of crab and corn speaks to summer. The Cianelli Shrimp Sub, named after the owners, was made of shrimp salad served with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a sub roll. There were 12 large shrimp in an old bay infused sauce. The side of onion rings were crisp and tasty. With such good food, it was easy to picture that I was on an island in the sun. Will definitely come back with friends when we can comfortably sit outside near the water.

Decided on this location for our Mother’s Day lunch. Beachy vibes located on the Bush River in Harford County. We got there right when they opened. Wasn’t busy yet, so plenty of seating available. The service was friendly but extremely slow and disorganized (with multiple employees asking the same things and bringing items to wrong tables). The food was pretty good, especially the ribeye sandwich. However, customers should be aware that drink refills are NOT free!! No one told us that nor did it say that on the menu. So, with it being a warm day and the food taking almost an hour to get to our table, the 8 of us each had several refills. You can imagine our surprise when we received the bill. This charging for refills is not something we’ve encountered anywhere else for the last 30 years. Family members of ours have worked at and managed various restaurants in the area, so we know how inexpensive fountain drinks are to the establishments. Definitively not a good practice to charge for refills!! The appetizers were served an hour after ordering and came to the table when our food did. We will not be returning to “The Island at Flying Point Marina”. Even though it looked tropical, you still know you’re on the Bush River, which often has high bacteria levels in the water. If you should decide to give this venue a try, be aware of wait times, disorganization and charging for drink refills!

If you want to eat a meal do NOT go to The Island at Flying Point Marina. We had 4 PM reservation for dinner. We were seated, ordered our drinks. A few minutes later, we ordered our food -- streamed shrimp appetizer and 2 pulled pork sandwiches with our sides. 45 minutes later when the waitress came by to check on us, we ordered a drink refill and asked on the status of our appetizer. When the waitress returned with our drinks, she let us know the kitchen was plating the appetizer and we should have it soon. 20 minutes later we are brought out a tray with tacos and some other dish. We told the person that it wasn't our order. 15 minutes later our waitress comes out to tell us that they have run out of pulled pork. So we changed our order and asked for our appetizer to be brought out. She was shocked we hadn't received it yet. 35 minutes later she comes back to check on us and finds out we STILL haven't received any food. So 2 hours in we decided to leave and go somewhere else to eat We enjoyed the wonderful weather and the breeze off the river, but I don't think I will ever go back there. I also want to note we were not the only people having issues getting their food. There were several tables in our area. Only one table received their order about 15 minutes before we left. Way to go The Island at Flying Point Marina for ruining my daughter's Mother's Day surprise for me.

Went out of the blue to something different. Extremely busy but food and service was extremely fast. The Honey Old bay wings are awesome. Just a great afternoon spot for a cold beer and great food. Try the ranch dressing on anything you get.
