Fantastic Sunday dining experience for our party of seven. The cocktail and beer list is good. The bartender gives a good-sized pour. There are a small number of appetizers, which we skipped in favor of the patties. Truly the best patties I've ever eaten outside of Jamaica. Beef, chicken, or vegetarian, they're all huge and delicious. Warning: They sell out early, but you can call ahead and order patties for your visit.
The entrees are the star, coming from a Jamaican chef in the kitchen. Chef's specials are cooked to order, so have another drink while you're waitin' mon.
The staples, like curried goat, oxtail stew ( amazing!), and ackee and salt fish, are here and taste like they've been slow cooking all day. There are fusion dishes on the menu as well.
The service is impeccable. Laid back, attentive, and customer focused. We were taken care of in every way by our amazing server, Miss DeAnna.
Finally, there's a bar/lounge off of the main dining room with a TV and a private banquet room in the back.
If you're looking for authentic Jamaican food Island Spice is not to be missed.

Stopped in yesterday for an early dinner so it was pretty quiet in the restaurant. I tried the brown stewed chicken for a change of pace. I normally get the curried goat. Since I was alone, I sat at the bar. The bartender Scott was fun and friendly and my drinks were perfect. Great way to end a hectic week. I added to the mandatory 18% gratuity.

The chicken soup was so great I had to see the Chef. I wanted to tip him but he refused and said he cooks with Love, I told him I could taste it. He suggested I put the tip elsewhere in the establishment.Tyrese was an excellent waiter. However we ordered 2 pints of soup to take out and was somewhat disappointed. But we’ll still come and just check it out before leaving because we live 30 something miles away.💛

Dinner here was awesome. Loved the homemade drinks – super tasty. Even though they were out of Snapper, they suggested the Curry Goat instead, and it didn't disappoint – really hit the spot. Oh, and the Rasta Pasta was delicious. The staff was very welcoming and more than one person checked on us to make sure we were taken care of. As two business owners we definitely appreciated the exceptional service and delicious meals.

Only reason for the low stars on atmosphere and service is we did takeout but we did get a text as soon as it was ready which was appreciated. Try the jamaican beef Patties they are excellent

I had the Chicken soup. I was surprised it didn't have the Chicken feet or dumplings. But the flavor was AWESOME 👍🏾. I'll definitely vist again if I'm in the area.

Food Service and Atmosphere were great... then I got the bill, just me at the bar and I got an auto gratuity to my bill. Tipping is an option not a requirement, especially for a party of one.... terrible idea. I work in the industry... I am a bartender and have been for 34 years... I dont agree with auto grat, especially at the bar

While staying in the area on one of our trips we had dinner at the Island Spice Grille. Since we had been to Jamaica in the past, we were curious to see how their food compared to what we had in Jamaica. The answer is that the Island Spice Grille was at least as good (and possibly better) than the food we had in Jamaica. If you are in the area, I recommend that you give their food a try.

Wow! An absolute hidden jewel of a restaurant in Edgewood Maryland! We have been traveling back and forth to church services down here and never knew that this place was right on the other side of the road. We were pleasantly surprised and the food was Absolutely Delicious. Our service was excellent. Shaniqua and Manager Cecil made sure that we were well taken care of. Very Clean and well kept restaurant. Simply Beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended.
