Nothing is good anymore except the crabs.

On one occasion, My crab order was short of two crabs! ~They didn’t rectify after I notified them.

Then, we decided to try them again (dine-in) and the food was horrible. My daughter’s chicken tenders were unseasoned, overcooked and dry.

The Cream of Crab soup was cheesy! Tasted like they added milk to the crab dip and served it to me. It was so bad, I sent it back. They were out of oysters, and the clams were gross.
Then, I ordered a burger and left. Mind you; I never ordered a burger there because it is a seafood restaurant.

On, 11/8/25 we attended the ‘seafood festival’.. All food on the buffet was not good and it was cold.
My family and I, used to love this place. But the food has changed. It too expensive to not have a satisfactory visit.

I think, we’ve given them enough chances!

I attended a crab feast and the crabs were supplied by Salerno's. The crabs were the worst I have had in my memory. They were wet as if they were boiled. When I opened the first claw water ran out of it. The consistency of of the meat was what you might expect if you opened a crab that was cooked in crab soup. I was told later the crabs that came out later in the event were somewhat better but barely legal size.

The food at Salerno's Restaurant is always delicious. Their portions are great, as well.

This is the 4th time I have gotten crabs from Solerno’s Restaurant all 4 times have one dozen of jumbo crabs and I have to tell you they have been the best tasting crabs I have ever had from the Mt. Airy area I usually go to Trouts but they only sell bushels of crabs on the weekends because they are closed Monday-Wednesday. I use to work in crab house when I was young and know a lot about cooking crabs the correct way. Solerno’s takes a lot of pride in the way they cook their crabs you can tell when you get a crab that was either dead when they threw it in the pot or at least near dead when they were cooked. You know when you open the crab and the mustard inside is grayish looking that means the crab was dead when it was cooked. The crabs I have gotten from Solerno’s was bright yellow mustard looking inside the crab you can tell it is very fresh. The meat was very sweet and was not dry very moist. Solerno’s will have all my future crabs buying for sure. Of course when you pay $150 dollars for a dozen crabs they better be top of the line in weight and must be not over cooked to where the meat sticks to the shell and is very dry.

Me and my girlfriend went there, our waitress was terrific however, the food was terrible. Had Two Rueben sandwiches, they were dry and mine tasted like it was cooked on grill after seafood, had a seafood taste, the cup of cream of crab couldn’t find any crab meat. I never take the time to write reviews of any kind, I felt in this case needed to take the time to let the owners know. It’s a Tuesday evening September 2nd. They weren’t busy so I can only chalk this up to not a good cook. The only good was the French Onion soup. We brought all the food home so we could personally throw it all in the trash. We drove from Owings Mills to relax and have a good meal. It was bad enough we will unfortunately not return. We’ve both been there in the past and wanted to get out of Owings Mills for something different. Disappointment!!!
I left our waitress a good tip for her service, not for the food.

Went on a Friday night. Wasn’t too busy. We were seated right away and our food didn’t take long. Zack our waiter was thee best!! Friendly, funny and attentive. The crabs were 5 star by themselves. Will definitely be returning.

Great experience at Salerno's! Our party split, half getting entries and the rest feasted on a couple dozen crabs. The crabs were pricey but DELICIOUS!!! Great food and service, thank you, Salerno's!!!
