Silver Diner is always a consistent choice. I pretty much order the scramble or the flat iron steak every time I go. But, I’ve had their plant based options as well. I also always sit at the counter. The only thing about that is you hear all of the drama from the staff about their night out, their ex, other customers… but, that comes with the territory. I wish they would clean the menus better… I hate sticky menus and surfaces. Otherwise, 5 star service.

The staff chose not to seat my family of seven because they did not have "enough servers." They preferred that we leave rather than sit us next to each other in separate tables or together in the corner table that all they had to do was clean. They obviously had servers when those tables they could have given us were still dirty from previous customers. Columbia SD, your discrimination is showing, and it's not a good look.
I liked it here. I can’t even lie. I’m confused though I didn’t see anybody doing a stakeout. The diner presents a classy yet down to earth feel when you enter with a classic clinking of silverware in the slow walking of old people and has a distinct feel. My only complaint was they didn’t take the minute to separate the meat from the eggs scrambled, but the sausage was a ray of sunshine over the glistening plate! Shout out to Seamus, he took great care of us. A little weird that he picked ice cream over laughter though not gonna lie…

Love this diner The food is great come hear often with friends Today was second time Allana waiting on us She doesn't check back Have to ask for drink refill
Had to flag down other servers to get her twice to request to go box and ask for dessert (never offered) then to be able to pay bill

Wow. I definitely underestimated this place from the outside but it was really impressive. NOT greasy spoon standards. They have gluten free options, plenty of creative dishes, and so much variety! We got seated immediately and everything was delicious :)

the people there were absolutely the nicest to our family. the food was magnificent!! thanks for a good experience!
Food was great, we got seated very soon after we walked in on a busy Saturday evening. Our waitress was a bit snarky and did not have the best customer service skills. The other staff (woman who served our food and the man who seated us, were very very pleasant). Given how quickly our food came out, it was delicious and exactly what we asked for. Nice atmosphere, good food, affordable.

Good quality food at a fair price, will visit again!
We usually my family go on Saturday to eat here. We recently went on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered a grab cake. I got a burn dry ( not crispy)grab cake. Service was terrible.

Service was bad (waitress forgot some things, seemed to be having an emotional breakdown). Food ranged from meh to good. Prices were way too high considering the quality. Atmosphere was more like Applebee's than like a traditional diner. Overall was very disappointed, because I had been under the impression Silver Diner was good

Silver Diner in Columbia is a solid spot to grab a meal, especially if you’re looking for variety. Their menu has something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for breakfast classics, burgers, or healthier options like salads. It’s nice to see a place that caters to different tastes without compromising on quality.
The food itself? Tasty! Everything we ordered came out fresh and flavorful. Whether it’s a hearty plate of pancakes or a juicy burger, you can tell they put effort into getting it right. I wouldn’t say it’s gourmet dining, but for a diner, it definitely delivers.
The service is fine—nothing to rave about, but the staff is polite and keeps things moving. They’re quick to refill drinks and get your order right, which is what you want when you’re out for a casual meal.
A heads-up, though: weekends can get pretty busy. If you’re heading there during peak hours, expect a bit of a wait. It’s not crazy long, but enough to make you wish you’d come earlier or on a weekday. It can also be a little noisy.
All in all, Silver Diner is a great spot for casual dining with good food and decent service. Just plan ahead if you’re visiting on the weekend, and you’ll have a solid experience. Definitely worth a visit!

The Manger on 12/72024 at 1:20pm is no effective. They need help in running the fun and the manager is just standing right be side me on a hand held gaget. They are repeated asking for runners. This is thr 4th time I ve visited this place and returned my food because it was cool. I will not return with my family of 4 again
The food and drinks were good! The wait took a little bit - there were tables free but they must not have been staffed for the rush.
