I must have driven past this place 100 times before I finally stopped. Given the area, I fully expected typical bland Americanized food, but was pleasantly surprised by what I got. Everything was fresh and flavorful. A little pricey, but worth it.
Won't be coming here again. I also saw someone pick something up from the ground and put in on the grill(still wondering who got that shrimp).The food also had an aftertaste. Service was fast and our server was so nice and helped us since it was out first and last time. The salsa also tasted like it was from a grocery store and was very watery. We got the small guacamole and it was indeed small, it didn't taste fresh and was a amateur level guacamole, but tasted alright....
We had a great date night at La Tolteca. I ordered the enchiladas verdes, Jalisco-style, with a cold horchata—everything was flavorful and came out fast. The portion sizes were generous; we even had a little leftover to take home. My wife was all smiles over the free chips and salsa. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere made for a great evening.
