The vibe is much warmer than its previous location. Last night (Tuesday) two of us popped in for dinner. Even though I could have walked there from my house, I didn't know anyone, which is great, because it means plenty of people are finding this neighborhood gem. People were at the bar, and at tables. We had excellent patatas bravas, risotto with lump crab, Caesar salad, and a salmon small plate. The chef made an alternate preparation to accommodate my friend's need for gluten free. The white wine albarino was a delicious choice.

We have enjoyed our visits in the past when it moved location to our village. They have now expanded the menu to include many “small plates”. We tried three and all were excellent. We will be going back to try some more. Being only a mile from route 32 and 4 miles from I 95 it’s worth the short detour for an alternative to the usual brands that are near highways.

My wife and I were visiting my brother and wife who live nearby. They suggested we dine here. We arrived about 5PM on Monday, May 19, 2025. It is now located in a small shopping mall area. They offer a 3 course prix fixe, small plates or a small selection of entrees. We ordered drinks and a couple of appetizers as well as one fixe prixe and two entree items for the four of us. All dishes were near excellent. Our server was Hannah P. who did a great job of keeping us satisfied. Great dining experience.

This restaurant is a gem located in the Hickory Ridge Village Center in Columbia. Ranazul offers small plates as well as full dinners. On our first visit, we shared four small plate selections, which leaned heavily in the area of Central and South American cuisine. The shrimp appetizer is outstanding and the orzo and crab is not to be missed. We both loved the garlic spinach, and the only slight disappointment about the meal was the Peruvian chicken, which seemed dry and lacking flavor. We shared a bottle of nice wine and loved at our waiters suggestion, a really superb crème brûlée. Robert, our waiter, was attentive and he was thoroughly knowledgeable about the dishes in the restaurant. I’d also like to mention that we were warmly greeted at the front door when we arrived and the manager wished us well and asked if we had enjoyed our meal on our way out.

A long time favorite place when in Maple Lawn and now at Hickory Ridge. Lovely space. Great, friendly, engaging managers, staff and wonderful bartender, Jeremy. Love the tapas option. Perfect for light meal, smaller appetite. I don’t do a full dinner, but surely they must be great, too. Good wine selections. Always a repeat customer. Oh! Best burger ever😋

My first visit to Ranazul since it reopened about four months ago after more than a year since it closed their previous location in Maple Lawn. I was relieved to find the food just as great, and was rewarded with again having the signature Azteca soup and patatas bravas tapas, plus sharing other tapas as well. The creative and expertly prepared small dishes; the perfect fall old fashioned and peartini cocktails; the cozy, tasteful and cleanly lined dining and bar areas, atmosphere and vibe; and the warmly attention of our server (Leah) and host; all combined to grant us a perfect environment for great food, drink and conversation. The place is about half the size of their former spaces at Maple Lawn, but the table arrangement and room acoustics (I'd think that the real fabric tablecloths help) combine for a pleasant restaurant experience that affords appropriate distancing.

Great food and drinks. Menu was a bit too Americanized for me, but it was great. We ALL really liked what we ordered. I'd love to see this restaurant be a tad more adventurous and authentically Peruvian, if that's what they're going for. Will be hoping for Tacu Tacu, aji de gallina or even a super juicy lomo saltado.

Have been wanting to try this place for some time. Unfortunately was not very impressed. Service was very good, very nice, and attentive. Ordered ceviche and arepas from the appetizer menu, sopapillas for dessert. Ceviche was good, shrimp, marinade had a nice little bit of spice.

Arepas were not good. Rather than a white corn arepa as the base, I am pretty sure it was a pancake, from a boxed pancake mix - could taste artificial vanilla flavoring. Topping of crab and shrimp were ok, but the pancake base ruined it for me.

The sopapilla was a single flour tortilla, deep-fried, with honey drizzled, scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle, halved strawberries. Was expecting some more than what was probably a pre-packaged tortilla dropped in a fryer. Other aspects of the dessert were good, though.

I can't believe that I'm the first person to write about this restaurant. Tonight, we had the PERFECT dining experience. We were 2 couples, just wanting to have dinner. We didn't know that Ranazul was celebrating Restaurant Week. Our server, Dennis, was absolutely perfect. The two couples had the same thing. We split a Cesar salad, and the Peruvian chicken. The salad was good. The chicken was heaven. When we spoke with Dennis, he offered to get the chef. We complimented him on the meal. Dessert is where we differed, I got the gluten free creme brule and the other couple split carrot cake (sans ice cream). The location on Freetown Road is their new location. The menu is different than the old location, but there are great choices. Go and support a local restaurant.

Great food. Great bartender (Jeremy). Good location with lots of parking.

Their hours are limited (3pm-8pm), so they're not a lunch place. They have reduced prices for happy hour (3-5pm) and offer several nightly specials. I love the music, staff are nice, and the atmosphere makes you want to return. Ranazul is my new favorite place.

Just enjoyed an amazing 4 course wine dinner at Ranazul. No better way to learn about the wine than from the winemaker from Spain. Perfect pairings & very attentive service. The chef is amazing!
