I love coming to the Gambrills location and I even got to sit in a VIP area sectioned off, I felt so special. The staff is also so welcoming everytime I come. Highly recommend 😊

Really good Takoyaki! The Okonomiyaki was a little burnt in some areas, but was good.

Update: takoyaki is still good and their Tonkatsu Miso Ramen is so flavorful.

YVONNE was the best and Akira did is always consistent

I’ve absolutely never been disappointed going to Akira. The only thing that’s ever made me sad is when something has been removed from the menu, like finding out today the okonomiyaki is no longer on the menu. I would always recommend the food, the atmosphere, all of it.

Food was fantastic! Try the takoyaki! Loved the steamed dumplings and tempora. Service was FANTASTIC!

I ordered the spring rolls and vegetable ramen. I was not impressed with either. The insde of the spring rolls were mushy witk a funny taste thst i couldn't pinpoint and the ramen was okay buyi expected more from both items.

This was my second time at Akira Izakaya in Gambrills, and it’s quickly becoming a go-to. The ambiance is cozy and modern, with a relaxed vibe that works for solo meals or casual catch-ups. Seating is comfortable and spaced out enough that it doesn’t feel cramped, even during dinner hours.

The Akira Ramen had that rich, creamy broth that just hugs your taste buds—especially when you mix in the chili oil they kindly served on the side. California rolls were fresh, clean, and well-prepared. Prices are very reasonable for the quality—my meal felt like a treat without breaking the bank.

Service was outstanding both times I've visited: friendly, fast, and thoughtful. You can tell they care about quality across the board. Already thinking about visiting their Hyattsville location to see if it’s just as good!

It’s a quaint little spot with very kind and speedy service! I frequent this restaurant often and it’s never bad! Fairly priced too! Yvonne even taught my Mom how to use chopsticks for the first time. It made an experience she’d never forget. Overall, great food and always a pleasant time. :)
