Honestly, when we walked in, I was taken aback that they didn’t have the “experiential” hibachi grills. HOWEVER, I’ve been to hibachi-style Japanese restaurants all over the country and I’ve never had food as good as it was at Otani. It’s been 48+ hours and I can’t stop thinking about the shrimp, filet, veggies, and fried rice (do I have a problem???)…dare I say the best meal I’ve ever had? I know that sounds ridiculous, but truly, it was delicious.
The server (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name!) was absolutely wonderful, with great suggestions and just enough personality.
We will absolutely be back…perhaps once a week.

My mom and I come every week and it is always the most fantastic experience. The owner and staff are the sweetest, and our order (though it is the same all the time), is always correct. Everything is so quick and delicious. Definitely come here to not only eat amazing food, but to support a local business!

I'm giving them 1 star for just this time. Yesterday I purchased shrimp fried rice. I decided to eat it today for dinner. As I was about to take a bite, I noticed a very long black hair in my food. This is the first time this has happened to me at this establishment. However it's enough for me to question if I will ever go back.

I drove 40mins from Baltimore to taste two things: smoked salmon sushi & pineapple fried rice.
They were both delicious. Hands down & FRESH.
Service & attention to you, impeccable. You feel seen & it's such a quaint, well thought out decorated spot.
Worth every mile in gas. I'll be back.

I would give this place a better rating if they didn’t charge full price for cocktails, then make them back in the kitchen where you can’t see what they’re doing and water them down. Yes, they will literally put water in your martini. I don’t make this accusation lightly either as I know what a dry martini should taste like. Food is pretty good I will admit, but don’t bother getting any of their cocktails as you don’t know what games they’re playing back in the kitchen when they make them.

This was my 1st time! The playboy roll did not disappoint!
Unassuming culinary delight in a strip mall. Very busy on a Friday night but service was quick, we were checked on frequently and did not have to wait long for food to be served. Sushi rolls were awesome tasting and artfully displayed. Will definitely go back next time we are in town!

The food was delicious and the staff were polite, kind and diligent. I placed a carry out order and wrote in the notes section that I was allergic to crab, and then I proceeded to accidentally order something that had crab in it. When I arrived they immediately mentioned it and even redid the order without crab. I appreciate the diligence with food allergies and the willingness to fix a mistake that WASN’T theirs. They didn’t have to.
