Very good food and service. Good atmosphere. Drinks, salads, and entrees and dessert were all good. Waitresses did a very good job

Our server James was great, the food was replenished almost immediately, and the beverages were great also. We will return.

The variety of food here was impressive—from breakfast classics to lunch favorites, everything was fresh and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, etc.]. The staff kept everything well-stocked and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth the visit if you're looking for a satisfying and relaxed brunch spot. I left full and happy!

This is one of my go to places for great food, vibes and service. I am never disappointed. Always recommend this spot.

Tremendous dinner tonight - the Branzino was delicious and prepare perfectly... The Fried Green tomato appetizer was spot on.....and the peanut butter pie for dessert was a great finish. On top of all of that - tremendous service -thank you

The entire experience was excellent. The food is remarkable and the staff is outstanding and very accomadating.

Crabcakes were not thoroughly cooked. The crabcake had the consistency of crab dip. 😵‍💫 The brussel sprouts were covered with some kind of heavy sauce that was loaded with sugar. Not a fan. The calamari had some of the smallest rings (smaller than a dime), that I have ever seen and the fried green tomatoes could have used a little more seasoning. On a better note, our waitress, Bailey was delightful and attentive.

Disappointed with Gambrill's Brunch – Columbia Still Delivers I visited The Barn in Gambrills on 6/29 for brunch with friends, and unfortunately, we were all disappointed. For a meal that totaled over $400 for four people, the quality just didn't match the price. The bacon was the cheap, thin kind you'd expect from a budget buffet, not a premium brunch. The grits were overly thick and bland—you had to rely on the shrimp juice just to make them palatable. On top of that, food replenishment was slow and inconsistent. We had to get up multiple times just to find what was missing on our first pass. This experience was especially frustrating because I had previously dined at The Barn's Columbia location, which was exceptional. Everything there was on point, from the food to the drinks—even the espresso martini was perfect (unlike the watered-down version at Gambrills). I live just two miles from the Gambrills location, but I won't be returning for brunch. Columbia, on the other hand, is absolutely worth the drive—and the $400+ price tag—when the quality matches the cost.

The food was great, per usual. The room we were in was extremely hot!! As a 40+ year old, I started sweating and the others in my party recognized her skin flushing out. We asked for a different table and were told that we could not move to the cooler room because it was reserved for larger parties despite several empty tables. The heat almost overshadowed our meal.

Delicious from apps (Brusells sprouts & caprice canoe) to mains (prime rib & new york strip) to dessert (chocolate cake) with wonderful service, despite the crowd (on a Thursday night!). If you're looking for a quiet, this isn't the jam. Almost too energetic for us, but well worth the visit.

We've dined at Blackwall Barn and Lodge in Gambrills numerous times, and each time has been an exceptional experience. Tonight was no exception. I began my meal with the Barn Brussels Sprouts, which were incredibly tasty and the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had. For my entree, I chose the Salmon and Kale Salad, and it was absolutely exquisite! The presentation was stunning, with a colorful and fresh-looking plate that made my mouth water. But the flavors were what truly set this salad apart. My husband ordered his favorite entree, the Braised Beef Short Ribs, and as always, they were a delight. We ended our meal with a warm Berry Cobbler, topped with vanilla ice cream. It was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious! We love this restaurant for its inviting ambiance, the outstanding menu choices, and the exceptional customer service. Leslie, our server, was an absolute gem. She and everyone at the restaurant made us feel welcome and made sure we had a great time. Thank you for yet another wonderful evening at The Blackwall Barn and Lodge. We'll definitely be back!

This was my 4th visit to the restaurant (3rd time for Sunday brunch), and it did not disappoint! Yes, it's a bit pricey, but for a special occasion, it's well worth the splurge. The food (selection and quality ), great service and ambiance made for a very nice Father's Day!

Went for my husband's birthday and it was fantastic. I enjoyed the decor and lighting. The chairs and booth seat were comfortable. French Onion soup and Brussel sprouts appetizers were great. They also serve these lovely little biscuit cornbreads- savory. I had a watermelon cocktail which I was surprised they had- for anyone that struggles with acid reflux- watermelon is a great option, low acidity. My husband got the Prime rib, my 13 year old got an NY strip- and he's picky but he devoured it and his side. I had the scallop and shrimp risotto- it was sooo good. Service was excellent- she knew all the specials and was able to answer questions. She anticipated our needs and we didn't wait long for anything.

Food is top tier, but reasonably priced. Best braised short rib I've had in recent memory. Spouse's seafood pasta was also thumbs up (homemade pasta). We advised through Open Table that it was our anniversary & the restaurant had our table ready in front of the fireplace. The wait staff was superb (kudos Megan) and managers were attentive but not intrusive. Megan recommended the apple cinnamon bread pudding for dessert, which topped off our evening perfectly.

Overall, it was a great place for dinner. Seemed like we waited a bit longer than usual for our main entree to be served. Great food and drink otherwise.
