I have been going to tropical smoothie for years now and today was a bad experience. I was there with my mom after a workout and ordered a smoothie to split it. They offered to put it in two cups. When the man with the locs went to hand me the two smoothies I struggled to grab both and accidentally dropped one. I apologized for dropping it and they said it’s fine. I threw the empty cup away and waited for them to remake it for me.
They proceed to make the smoothies of the guests that were waiting (rightfully so) and I waited. And waited…and waited. They did not say anything else and watched as my mom and I discussed me dropping it and waiting. After 7min of them saying nothing I asked the white woman with the dark buzz cut “do I need to reorder it?” And her response was “I mean do you want to reorder it?” And I said “oh you guys weren’t going to remake it?” And she responds with “no we don’t do that”. I said oh y'all didn’t say anything.
You mean to tell me I spent 10 dollars on a smoothie and you’re not gonna remake it for an accidental drop! I’ve watched Starbucks remake drinks for people, the movies when you drop your popcorn. As a bartender of 5 years even I remake a drink when there’s all clear accidental drop.
It’s just good customer service and what you do for your patrons because, accidents happen! I just couldn’t believe the lack of courtesy and understanding.

I literally had to walkout only because of the rudeness’s. I didn’t mind the waiting but the tone of I have 14 smoothies to make was letting me know to just leave:
I used to be a regular customer here, ordering twice a week, but after my recent experience I won’t be returning.
I had a very disappointing interaction with the server, Ian. I ordered a smoothie, but the lid wasn’t properly secured. When she placed it on the table, the cup was stable, but because the lid wasn’t covered correctly, the drink spilled all over the table. I called her back for help, but she ignored me and immediately started serving the next customer.
I understand it can get busy, but existing customers should be taken care of properly before moving on to the next order. Instead, I was left with a half-empty smoothie and no acknowledgment. I didn’t say anything at the time because I found the behavior from the server,named Ian, very disrespectful.

Unsanitary practices. I will never return. Ordered a smoothie and couldn’t taste an ounce of the ingredients they said was in there. Tasted like I was drinking ice water…absolutely no taste. As I was about to write this review, I see there was someone else with a similar experience. That tells me that this location is stretching their ingredients. After I told the lady at the register that I could not taste anything, she told me to take out my straw and she would add some ingredients to my already made drink that I took a sip from. I asked her if she was going to take it and put it back in a blender that they had behind there, and she kept repeating that she could make it sweeter. That was shocking to me as I considered what other UNSANITARY practices were going on at this location. Sweetness was not the issue, I drink smoothies all the time, the ingredients were simply missing. There really should be an option to give zero stars.
The food was delicious and the smoothie hit the spot perfectly.

On June 13, 2025 at 7pm, I made an online order that was made incorrectly and when I asked for a refund. I was told they don’t allow refunds. The male in the black polo shirt who seemed to be the manager on duty claimed it is tropical smoothie policy not to provide refunds. He also claimed he didn’t know when the next time the manager would be in. The smoothie bowl ingredients were not fresh & the base was açaí bowl was frozen. If you want a fresh smoothie or açaí bowl, please go to Nekter Juice Bar in Crofton, MD.
My boyfriend and I visited last night and it was terrible. It was 8:15 and the lights were already off and chairs up. We actually thought they were closed already. We ordered a Bahama mama and blimey lime with light ice. When I got my blimey limey it was thinner than juice so I asked to have it remade a little thicker. The cashier had a terrible attitude, he grabbed the drink from me, dumped it back into the blender and proceeded to add 3 scoops of ice to the already made smoothie. The smoothie tasted like trash. I didn’t even bother to ask for a refund. I should have known from the minute I walked in and saw lights off at 8:15pm.
I ordered a blueberry bliss and it tasted just like water and she told me she could not remake it then told me it was the blueberries she was using and then told me I could not have another drink and she would not refund me my money. Even after I paid and she told me I was not allowed to have anything else . I will never come here again very rude and disrespectful

just witnessed an employee tell two ladies behind me that they can’t order. lmao. they walked out. I certainly would have. Be prepared to be rudely asked several times if you’re ordering or picking up as soon as you walk in. probably a few times. they were super unfriendly here and we waited 10 min to order (we were first at the register). it was just a shitty atmosphere which is why I’m here complaining. I was only along for the ride with my sister in law. not coming back to this place after seeing how the employees treat customers. ☠️ I’m in the service industry myself and if you’re good at your job you don’t take your attitude to work.
I did an order and asked for no bananas in my Acai berry smoothie…it didn’t taste right after one sip. Went back to tell them and they refused to change it. It wasn’t sweet or even bitter— just weird tasting - like bananas or something bad in it. Still they refused to change or exchange it because I made an adjustment (no bananas). You would think that for $12 they would want to make sure the customer was happy. So disappointed. Gonna stick with what I know- Smoothie King. Won’t be back.
Was enjoying my Baja wrap until I bit into a shard of metal.. thought it was a chicken bone.. but the pics I have prove it. I normally wouldn’t post a review because who has the time… but after talking to the manager and she telling me that it could’ve gotten there once I got home made me pretty mad. I don’t want anything out of this. Just wanted to inform them that they dished out food to me which contained a shard of metal.. and had I or someone sealed this (like my son who’s 3 and who I get this for us every once again) swallowed this…. It would rip their intestines apart. So yeah needless to say I will never eat here again.
The Manger took my order incorrect. And blamed me refused to refund or remake my order that she messed up. All while her employees laughed at her for her ignorance. She said policy is no refund or remake. Which none was stated on my receipt. She had a nasty attitude from the moment I walked in. I frequent tropical all the time and I will never return to this location even if I was starving. This manager needs to be fired and removed from this location.
