Staffing your restaurant with one (1) person to serve as waiter, hostess and runner is an absolutely wild choice. Even more wild to do so on the same Saturday afternoon of a busy festival happening directly across the street.Server was sweet but I am 7 months pregnant and stood waiting 30+ minutes for one (1) veggie ramen takeout order. To add insult to injury, a customer who placed his sushi takeout order 15 minutes after me was served and walked out the door 5 minutes before me. Sushi / raw bar was obviously separated from the main kitchen but I definitely felt burned since I had been so patient and understanding up until that point.By understaffing, the ownership / management failed me, as a customer, and this woman left to do everything solo during an incredibly overwhelming time period this weekend.Ramen taste was decent.
Don’t go there. Bad service. They don’t attend you at all. They don’t even answer their phones. Super slow and sloppy service. Took them 30 min to bring drinks to the table. I would never go there again and I won’t advise anyone to go either.

Very slow service for a Monday evening. Placed take out order at 7:45pm with a pick up/ready time of 8:24pm (almost 40 minutes!) I show up promptly 2 mins before and was told it would take another 5 mins or so. That’s fine. BUT it took an additional 20 mins because once my food came out, I was missing 2 out of 6 items. So I had to wait an additional 15 mins for them to make this.Business in the restaurant was slow (only 2 tables with people that already had their food…) so i am baffled how it took 15 mins to make 2 very simple starters…

I started coming here since this past summer and tried it. The food is pretty good although the service is alittle slow and could use maybe an extra server, but the waitress is very polite and kind. Wish I can come more often because I love Thai and Japanese food, and they have both of them combined. Haven’t tried their Thai food yet but I am thinking about getting Thai next time I am in Germantown. So far so good.

I've ordered take out several times ( always the soft shell bento box) and it is amazing every time. Definitely recommend!

Went to experience the sushi. Excellent flavors and high quality taste and freshness. Enjoyed every roll we tried and would order them all again. The best were the veggie delight and cucumber and avocado. The maki rolls are also delicious with preparation of nori on the outside. Menu items we selected marked with “V” were all confirmed vegan along with the tempura batter. Great edamame too. Welcoming atmosphere and staff were very friendly. Called “Zane” but changing name to KIN

I have been here three times, and each time has been better than the last. The restaurant seems to be constantly refining its atmosphere because now I see red wallpaper hanging just outside the bathroom area, which is clever because it emanates a certain degree of privacy (a quality that is rare in American restaurants). There are wooden sliding doors, plants, red lanterns, and a TV that plays food videos! I enjoy coming here with my family because the servers are nice, the sushi is artsy, and the Thai food is authentic.
Vegetarian options: The entire Thai menu can be vegetarian if that is what you desire. When the servers ask you what protein you want in... let's say drunken noodles, just say veggies. You can even ask for veggies and tofu if you want its smooth texture to grace your tastebuds along with the crispy veggies. The Japanese menu also has vegetarian options. Be careful when ordering ramen though; most of the ramen broths have pork in their base. You are safe when you order Shoyu or Tom Yum ramen with the veggie option.
Dietary restrictions: Make sure to tell your server what kind of dietary restrictions you have. I can say without a doubt that they would accommodate you accordingly. A while back when I came, a Muslim woman was almost about to order a ramen when the server told her that the broth had pork in its base, which is forbidden in the religion. The server then directed the customer to Muslim-friendly options on the menu. Needless to say, I was impressed.
Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly. The servers are compassionate and understanding when your kid decides to scream their guts off, which is what my kid did. Still, the servers were wonderful and served us with smiles.

Let me first say that I ordered from this place when it was Zane ALL THE TIME and I loved it (5 Star service and food!!) It was my favorite place on Century Blvd. However, this was my first time ordering from the new name change - "Kin Japanese & Thai Eatery"I placed an online order at 12:40pm for 3 rolls (2 California and 1 Spicy Tuna - add Avocado) and 1 miso soup.I got to the restaurant at 1pm, no one said anything to me. I waited for 20 minutes before the lady even asked for my name. One gentleman got up from the sitting area and asked to place a to-go order instead, 2 separate men came in after me for pick-up orders and no one even said hello to them. The staff completely ignored them. Finally, the lady brought my order out to me at 1:25pm. (I ordered at 12:40pm and there was only two people in the entire restaurant when I got there and the one lady was just seated as I walked in)My Spicy Tuna roll didn't have any avocado added and it tastes terrible. I am guessing this place is under new management and no, thank you.
