Whenever I tell someone I’m from Germantown, I always mention the glorious Dutch Market. This is by far the best food spot in the entire city. They have fresh pretzels, fried chicken, donuts, whatever. It’s amazing. I’ll always have love for them. They honestly might be my most visited food spot in life other than fast food chains.

Friendly greetings at the entrance were nice.

Get in early on Thursday- Saturday it gets worse in the afternoon. Plenty of fresh bakery, pretzels, chicken, restaurants and meats.

Oh how we've missed this place since we moved south! We had the most delicious breakfast there on 9/13. Their omlette was light and fluffy - like a cloud and the portion was huge. My short stack blueberry pancake covered the plate and was delicious. Can't say enough about their scrapple...fabulous. The portions were gigantic. Our waiter was attentive and kind. Just wish I could remember his name! The market was as amazing (and as crowded) as I remembered it. We bought some soft cheeses and pretzel logs to eat while in Maryland, and a jar of bacon jam to take back home with us. The furniture was beautiful, as always. Everyone was so kind. Parking was as complicated as always! Wish we could stay longer, so I could have some fried chicken, fresh veggies and one of those beautiful steaks I saw in the meat case.

Each store has its own unique charm, and the staff are very welcoming! Most importantly, the food is delicious, the prices are very reasonable, and there’s no extra tax.

If you're anywhere near Germantown, MD, do not miss the Lancaster County Dutch Market, this place is an absolute Amish wonderland of flavor!

King’s BBQ Pit serves up some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The Amish-style fried chicken is moist, massive, and packed with flavor. Every bite is juicy with a perfectly crispy, seasoned skin. Honestly, I’m just glad we don’t live any closer or I’d be here every weekend without fail.

Beiler’s Donuts are dangerously good. We grabbed the apple fritters, Oreo cake, and the chocolate peanut butter, each one more sinfully delicious than the last. They’re soft, decadent, and feel like they were made fresh just for you.

And last but not least, the Amish soft pretzels. Yes, there’s a line. Yes, it’s long. And yes, it’s 100% worth it. Whether you go for buttery and salted or sweet with cinnamon sugar, you’ll be glad you waited. That warm, doughy goodness is comfort food at its finest.

If you're even remotely close, make a trip to this market. You’ll walk out full, happy, and planning your next visit before you even leave the parking lot. Highly recommend!

Not many meat vendors but it was fine. Great prices.
Very very small. Not very wheelchair friendly.
