The Caribbean Flavor

I have eaten at quite a few caribbean spots, and this is by far the best caribbean food that i've ever had. This place has kept it spot in my top five favorite restaurants. I've tried just about everything on the menu and every time I try something new there i'm always very impressed. Great quality, excellent portions, and the best food around.

This should be illegal🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 the person who cook this !!!! This was the most disguising and disrespectful soup I’ve ever had do better

This place is awful, the food tastes terrible. We tried curry chicken, jerk chicken, curry goat, and plantains. The curry dishes were very dry with very little sauce. Won’t be going back there. But the worst part was the rude Trinidadian lady who serves the food. If you you’re there for the first time & aren’t sure exactly what you want, she gets very impatient with you. If she has to go 2 steps back to the start of the food area (where the plantain is), she gets upset you didn’t tell her you wanted something from that area…. an area an arm-length away from her. I asked her to simply lift the lids of the food, so I could see what the different dishes looked like, and she got an attitude and wouldn’t show me everything. Just quickly said what everything was. I was the only person in the restaurant, mind you. Online orders were coming in over the computer, so I guess I was a nuisance to her. I told her the reason I was asking to see what was under the lids (how the food looked) was because I am catering a large event in a couple weeks (about 35 people). I thought that would help her to be more patient, but she didn’t care. She just said “call me to place the catering order.”

So I just ordered some entrees to-go and left. I asked her for the receipt. She said the computer wouldn’t print it because of how I paid on the screen. Not sure what I did wrong. So I could only see the total price. After I paid she accidentally added something to my bag that wasn’t mine (from an online order), so I told her it wasn’t mine. That’s why I asked for the receipt— to make sure I was charged properly. Nope, she couldn’t even do that. Then I asked her to just tell me the price of each item (I would add it myself), & she said the prices are online. And this is the lady they have serving the food to customers…

When I got home I believed I had been overcharged, so I called the store. After several calls she final answered. I told her I checked the prices online and I believed I had been overcharged. She said the online prices were old prices. Not kidding, folks— The same lady who told me to go online to get the prices….. If you know the online prices are wrong, why tell me to go there in the first place? She said the next time I came into the store she would give me a credit, then immediately hung up the phone. I was trying to ask her why she couldn’t just credit my credit card, but she hung up before I could even finish my sentence.

I don’t know who owns this place, but not only is the food bad, but the customer service of this particular woman is completely nonexistent. Go somewhere else because you will be a nuisance to her. I guess she forgot she’s working in a restaurant. It’s not everyday I receive appalling service like this, and that is the reason for this post.

Two stars because the menu looked great. Too bad the store was closed without notice at 3pm on a Saturday. Drove all the way here for nothing. No sign on the door, nothing. Bad for business.

Service from the guy behind the counter was great! What ticked me off was when the owner only asked certain ppl in the restaurant how they were doing. Not only that, you see customers walk into your establishment and you don’t greet them?! We ordered 2 dinners: oxtail w/ rice and peas and cabbage. Jerk chicken w/ rice and peas and “greens” which really is callaloo. Along w/ a double and sorrel. Coming from Ny and knowing how things should taste, this was NOT it! Best thing was the jerk chicken. Never have I seen a double come split open .. it usually has a slit in it. Then you have containers w/ 3 compartments and only 2 get filled.. where are the plantains?? Rice and peas tasted like uncle Ben’s. The nerve to be called Flavor and damn near everything be Flavorless. Maybe this’ll pass in Maryland w/ ppl who don’t know any better but not w/ me!

Best Caribbean food in the dmv. Staff and owner are very nice.

Ordered food from here and ended up getting sick from it shortly after, nausea for two days straight

Will not be returning. Ordered chickpea double w/ side of rice and total said $6.81 on the screen; handed the cashier a $20 and he gave me $10 back. No change or anything lol. When I asked “wait, how much was it?” he lied and said it was $10 as if I didn’t already see the price on the screen. Not going to argue over a few bucks but as someone who works nearby and could frequent this place often, its money they could be making instead of loosing 🤷🏻‍♀️ would never recommend lol

The food is always delicious-but they run out of Dahl pouri 😞
