KKC is very small. They were out of a lot items we wanted. One waitress was working hard; the other one acted like she was lost. The salmon bites were delicious. I wish I could've tried the catfish. I will try them again for a carry out order.

If I could’ve given zero stars I would have. Highly highly disappointed after spending 100$ on our dinner tonight. Ordered the “Big daddy bayou ribs” with 2 sides of Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and rice. Ribs were tough as idk what, rice wasn’t even cooked I swore they just poured it in the container and the mashed potatoes were very sweet and tasted like they were mixed with another food maybe. They food wasn’t even hot just lukewarm. My partner is just speechless. We never eat out anymore and the one time we do it’s a 0/10 I’m just so sad and very very disappointed! $100 down the drain

Took my Mom for birthday brunch and I'm glad I did! We had salmon and braised beef corn bread bowls with mac and cheese, cabbage, and collard greens. Every bite was to die for! I mean literally!! We went at 1pm on a Friday, the waitress/hostess was pleasant and attentive and our food was piping HOT!!

10/10 RECOMMEND!

The food was cold, there was one waitress that was doing seating, waiting tables, and making drinks. We never got our glass of water. The people beside us didn't get silverware and their food was cold the people in the back of us left because the server couldn't get to them. I ordered Mac and cheese and it never made it to the table.
The cook sits your food up by the door, which is why in my opinion I think the food is always cold. You have so many people walking past your food. The collard greens had so many stalks in there I think I got more stocks than I did greens. I don't think this place should operate as a restaurant. Maybe they should only do carry out service they can't handle restaurant status! This was a horrible experience!

We made the order 9/12/2005 6pm or later and all of it was not received. I must admit it was very busy for the one waitor. The order consisted of Catfish dinners with vegetables (greens) that were cold because the plate sat in the window. 🫩😐 There's more to this story.. I paid in full although all of it was not received and it was cold. Customers were walking out unhappy and disgruntled. I wanted to patronize the business which I did, but my experience wasn't pleasant. We weren't offered anything for the poor service received Never again. Customers were asking for the owner or manager.

This was a great little vibe. My wife and I went on a Friday at 6:30pm. Actually it was pretty empty. The waiter was nice and polite. The food was incredibly delicious. We are definitely going back.

I ordered shrimp and grits for take out. The portion size is good for the price. The shrimps were jumbo. The grits could have been a little more favorable. I will try something else here. I would recommend it.

I wanted to support this Black-owned restaurant, but my experience was disappointing overall.

The staff seated me quickly, which I appreciated, though the food itself took quite a while to arrive. When it finally did, the catfish was fresh, crispy, and flavorful — easily the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the rice and étouffée sauce were only lukewarm, which made the plate feel uneven.

What really caught me off guard was the price. My entrée alone was $32, and with a single lemonade, the bill climbed to $45. For one person, no appetizer, no dessert, no alcohol. Cocktails like mimosas are listed at $9, and appetizers hover near $20, so it’s clear that dining here adds up fast. I’ve also noticed that gratuity may be added automatically to some checks, which is something guests should be aware of.

The interior décor is stylish — dark green walls with orange chairs give it a modern touch — but the restaurant is very small, with limited seating. Several guests also raised concerns about accessibility for those with disabilities.

While the food itself was solid, the high prices, long wait, and cramped space make this a place I was glad to try once, but wouldn’t return to unless I felt like splurging.

If you’re looking for soul food done right , this spot is the place to be. The catfish was absolutely outstanding! Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. Every bite tasted like it was made with real love and care. We also tried the jerk nachos which was different but equally as impressive. On top of the amazing food, Ms. Shannon, the owner, personally came by our table to make sure everything was perfect. That kind of warmth and hospitality is rare, and it truly made the experience unforgettable.

My grits were not cooked in my shrimp and grits. Shrimp were cooked to perfection😍 My husband waited over 10 mins for some syrup for his chicken and waffles😡 which were now cold. The decor in the restaurant is beautiful. I love the color choices.

Onto the Food.. well the chicken and waffles... To start, the Chicken was extremely too hard, while the waffle itself was great. We couldn't eat the chicken at all. :( The maryland omelet was okay but it didnt have much seafood, mostly egg and sauce. The food is overpriced for the area, and charging a large gratuity for a party of 2 is insane. Lastly, the entire dining area only sits; at most 12-14 people. Yes tha'ts the entire eating space in the restaurant, so if you plan to visit, with or without friends, I recommend you make a reservation before going. *Sidebar- we ordered from the brunch/dinner menu.

I definitely would not return or recommend this spot.
