Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

This evening, my family and I visited the mall, which has been dying over the years. I prefer to take my toddlers to this mall as opposed to a super busy one like Arundel Mills. However, I will no longer be visiting this location. Service is really hit or miss depending on who is working. This evening, it was a young lady preparing our order. She came out of the back, phone in hand. She didn't wash her hands afterwards. She listened well and repeated my order back to me just fine, but made the order wrong, ice piled up a mile high and spilling over the sides... didn't give napkins. I understand mistakes happen, but she seemed to not want to fix her mistake of giving the wrong flavor. As soon as my family were seated and eating, she completely left her post and started walking around the mall on her phone. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she may have been on break or something, but I have never seen or heard of management at this location and there is typically only one person on staff at a time which is weird to me. Every time I have eaten at this location over the past year, my daughter and I also experience a terribly sore throat beginning a couple of hours after and lasting for a couple of days, which is a sign of contamination. This does not happen at any other location. I hope these careless employees are maintaining product and cleanliness accordingly. As always, the flavors are delicious and prices are cheap!

Yummy!!

Love the quality and selection of Italian ice, cotton candy is one of our favorites at Rita's and the phenomenal soft serve custard ice cream. It is a perfect treat and great to sit and relax at the mall. The prices are the cheapest I've seen at any Rita's, typically they are double the price in the city. The employees have always been wonderful. Everyone is understaffed these days so please have some patience since it does take a little bit for things to be prepared. Certainly well worth the wait!

Good service and product..

Terrible experience. I was given a blending when I wanted a misto, and the young lady wanted to charge me again for her mistake. It seems as there is no management there that could have taken the wrong item and just charge me the difference ( the girl did not know how to do this). They need help at this location. I was and am very unhappy with the service.

Mom and I stopped in for a treat after walking around the mall several times ... the custard was excellent
