My wife and I always enjoy our meals here. The food and service are excellent. At busier times, parking and open tables can be a challenge; so, please be patient. (there is some counter seating) There are always specials on the board like the oysters and grits I enjoyed during my last visit. They do their best to buy local and provide the freshest ingredients. Prices are very reasonable. We typically spend around $40.

I have lived in Ferndale since 1969 and I will say Willy's is always consistent, Friendly and the food is always good. Some of my favorites are the sour beef and dumplings, country fried steak, , fried chicken, and a few other others! one of the best local places.

First visit. Place is small and a good chance you will be waiting to be seated. Staff is very friendly. Place could be a little cleaner. Food was great. Food service is way too slow. Hour and a half to be seated, get food, and finish. Way too long for breakfast service. Would still try this place again.

Love this place! A small, hometown, farm to table restaurant with a family vibe. They are busy for a reason. Well worth the wait!

Edit: in Winter 2025 the added a Hot Cocoa Truck! This was such a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays and had a real community vibe. Willy’s went above and beyond with this. The drinks were amazing, the roasting area and fire pit were a great touch and we all loved seeing Santa.

If you need a gluten free breakfast I recommend the avocado toast (the French toast was too dry). Coffee was good!

Willy’s Kitchen is one of those hidden gems you’re genuinely happy you found.
It’s a small spot, so they can’t serve a huge volume of people at once, but that’s part of what makes it special. They clearly care about what they’re putting on the plate. A lot of the ingredients are locally sourced from nearby farms and creameries, and you can taste the difference in the quality.
It’s not the cheapest place around, but it’s also not over-the-top expensive. You’re paying a little more than your typical breakfast or lunch spot—and honestly, that makes sense when you consider the quality of the ingredients they’re using. Good food costs more to make, and it shows here.
I’ve been here twice recently, and both times the food was outstanding. I actually wish I had taken pictures of my meals because they looked just as good as they tasted—I only snapped a photo of the menu. After leaving, I found myself craving it again almost immediately, which says a lot.
Because it’s a smaller place, it can get backed up, but it’s well worth the wait. If you’re looking for thoughtfully prepared food, great flavor, and a spot that clearly takes pride in what they do, Willy’s Kitchen is absolutely worth checking out.

Really good chicken fried steak. Cute, comfy place, with good service but, be warned it can get packed and little loud.
