Desserts are good. The place however smells like dog and dog pee…. They should improve that because it kind of ruined the experience.

Coffee was fine. We had lattes. My problem was that the pricey slice of Key lime bread/cake was stail. I'm sure if it was fresh, it would have been good. I don't know if I would go back.

Title: "Sweet Spot with Room for Improvement"Review: "Dessert First Dockside is a charming coffee and dessert bar offering a variety of hot and cold drinks alongside an appealing sweet menu. We tried the banana chocolate ice cream; while it didn’t quite wow us, it was satisfactory. The ambiance is delightful, but the price point for a small ice cream at $4 seemed a bit steep. It's a lovely place for a dessert stop, especially if you're exploring dockside delights, but there’s potential for the wow factor in their offerings

Beautiful views. Various pastries - not too many healthy options but definitely yummy ones. Enjoyed their coffee - they sell rise up! Had a pop tart and iced Americano.

VISITED FRIDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 29, 2023I had a morning of medical matters to take care of: Lab work and MRI. Fasting was one of my assignments. Therefore, while waiting at the Labcorp in Chestertown, MD (I should review them as well!) I stayed looking for coffee shops in the Stevensville/Kent island area since my MRI was in that area. I googled and found this hidden treasure.I’m a Riseup Coffee ☕️ fan, so this place sold me. The little shop is nestled between Red Eyes Dockside & Harris’s Crab ? house so be sure to follow your GOOGLE MAPS!Upon coming off there is sufficient seating. It was tastefully decorated for the holidays. There were even heat lamps inside. It was a slow time of the morning so I didn’t have any line to wait in. However, the guy that took my order wasn’t didn’t greet me or didn’t seem pleasant. But he wasn’t rude or in a mood.Everything looked ? ! I ordered a breakfast sandwich: Sausage Egg ? Cheese Biscuit and a coffee. I included a homemade Strawberry ? Pop Tart. Would’ve also purchased donuts ? but the cinnamon sugar was sold out ?. They were for hubby. Tart was for daughter. The wait was minimal. I liked my sandwich but was suspicious of whether it was sausage or scrapple (yuk!). Biscuit was light but quite crumbly. The coffee was good. My daughter ate the tart when I gave it to her at home. She enjoyed it. I tried it too and it was great!OVERALL: I look forward to going back when next in the area! Hopefully when the weather is warmer and can enjoy the water views!

Adorable coffee shop with great coffee is also perfect for folks with dietary restrictions. I was able to get a coffee made with coconut milk ( also carry several other DF substitutes)and they also had a large selection of packaged GF baked goods made from a local GF baker. Perfect ambience, very friendly customer service and delicious hot coffee!
