Overpriced rip off for tourists

Crab cakes were fabulous! Lots of crab and not fillers. But the fries and tomato were poor. Mariah was great and took good care of us!

The manager was disappointing, I am a 27 year retired disabled Army veteran and was turned away due to my service dog. The manager felt she was entitled to ask me what was my disability and what I need my service dog for. Even after I answered her questions, “yes, he’s for medical and yes he provides a medical service for me, “she insisted to want to know if “he he sniffed me?” Then, “what’s wrong with me?” I was beyond upset, she could care less, except was completely thrilled that she had accomplished upsetting me and I was leaving. Obviously, they didn’t want us there. ?? we won’t be stopping there again, and note to veterans, I hope you don’t either or be prepared if you have a service dog ?‍

My wife and I had dinner here and it was a great dining experience. We had come here two years ago on our way back to NJ from visiting family in VA. I had told my wife of a restaurant I had had lunch at some 15 years earlier. Somehow I was able to find it and we enjoyed our meal.I believe that the great food and service is what lead us to Harris. If you're in the area, or visiting from across across the country, and you love great food and service, this is the place to go.

Crabs and other shellfish were good - soft shelled crabs and clams had great texture, the steamed jumbo crabs were sweet and well-seasoned. The sides were not good - coleslaw and potato salad were too sweet and weren’t tangy, the alligator skewers were dry/chewy. The service was friendly and accommodated our large group.

Food was great!! Customer service was on point! But if you want some XL crabs, you need to get there early. A dozen XL blue crabs was $144 and 3 lbs of crab legs were $69. The crab imperial was so good and the fried rockfish was so fresh.
