This is my second visit to this restaurant. The first time I dined here years ago, the food was exceptional. I left satisfied, and the restaurant remained on my mind for a long time. Years later, I returned, but the experience was the opposite of what I had previously encountered. The fish was overcooked and dry, the Rockefeller oysters were subpar, and the yellow cheese sauce was unappetizing. We went to Timbuktu a month ago (for Mother's Day) and the food and service was great. So of course we booked for Father's Day but our food was not good and the service was terrible. Don't know how this could happen in just one short month but we won't be going back to Timbuktu.

We had dinner at Timbuktu to celebrate my son's high school graduation. We were a party of 18. We started with the Timbuktu Hors D'oeuvres platter which was a greater starter. 2 platters were enough to get all of us started. A few of us also ordered the Maryland Crab and Cream of Crab soup - both were very good.
