Old time coffee shop. Homey atmosphere. Friendly proprietors. And a place to sit, sip and relax.

The big donut place has a local charm and good coffee with pastries. Surrounded by records, dolls and memorabilia distracts one from the creaky seats and angular tables. Two blocks from the water on one of the two main streets in town and across from Washington street books.

Didn't have any food, just drinks. They have brownies and cookies and pastry stuff. Very nice people that own it, the drinks were fabulous. Nice, cozy place to sit and talk to a friend, or make new friends there!Parking: There is street parking. When we went, it wasn't very busy. Went on a Wednesday afternoon.

Great pumpkin spice latte! Good service and a lot of history. Come check it out, get a coffee and walk around the historic waterfront and shops. I did not rate food as we did not eat but the pastries looked very good and there were food options.

Owners are insanely standoffish about ingredient sourcing on a variety of products they offer. Super weird interactions both times I've ventured in. Advise going somewhere ownership is proud of where thier food/ drinks come from. Owners... please sell the business and get out of HDG if y'all are going to keep being so weird.

Each summer we cruise to Havre de Grace for a few days. Our only breakfast spot is Java By The Bay. The delightful elderly owners have tailored their cafe with the coolest nostalgia from the 50’s & 60’s. Great coffee and everything breakfast one can imagine. A must go to!

Great to sit or come in for an awesome cup of coffee or coffee infused refreshments. And the smell of the fresh coffee is delightful. There is also a great selection of coffee beans that they ground and you can take home. Will definitely be back, wish I lived closer Much Love from NJ!!

I had cheese and chive scones and coffee, and it was the only savoury breakfast I could find - satisfactory.

We saw a sign out front about yummy treats inside and decided to try it out. Definitely a shop geared towards older locals which is fine, but I felt so unwelcome upon entering. The woman at the register wasn’t friendly in the slightest and even appeared annoyed when I asked a question about an item in the bakery case. I literally just bought it because I felt I had annoyed her and wanted to get out of there without seeming rude. If you’re seeking a friendly coffee shop, look elsewhere.

THE REVIEW:EXCELLENT Christmas Experience!Folks, this is the true definition of a "small town, local, small business, mom-and-pop shop". I visited on an evening just a couple weeks prior to Christmas. The air was chilly, the Christmas lights and music were working hard to fill Havre De Grace with the Christmas spirit and cheer. Many popular businesses still remain closed (early) on a Saturday, but not this place. Their café felt like Santa's Workshop and the venue was small, warm and "hearthy". We ordered a couple delicious black coffees and a hot chocolate and it really made this season feel unique and special. I hope to visit more often.MY RANT:Folks, ignore the low reviews. If you give this place a low review, you're embarrassing yourself, and shame on you. If your coffee isn't exactly 210 degrees, or it's a bit lighter than your very specific expectations, that's on you. You need to specify and they will accommodate. If you're expecting a business to accommodate you and your massive roving band of family members, children, carts, carriages, and walking sticks, maybe you're in the wrong place. It doesn't mean the business is "lacking accommodations", you're just lacking awareness, Karen.

So friendly, we found out we went to high school with one of the owners. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't get anything, my 5 friends did and all looked hot and yummy. Next time I'll come with appetite, looked so good! Will definitely be back ☕

I had a hot chocolate and part of a blueberry muffin. Both were excellent. The owners were fun and friendly folks. I will go back. Great place.

I’ve lived in Havre de Grace for years and for some reason had never been in here. I’m glad I stopped in! We had a delicious muffin and bagel, and I LOVED the frozen vanilla latte. They also sell fresh beans and can grind them for you in store. Such a cute little place, will definitely be back!
