1/3/26 Came here again because my first experience on Christmas Day was so pleasant. This experience was also excellent. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and the robots. Service was friendly and efficient. The human servers and the robots were excellent. The food was delicious.
This was my first time at Izakaya 68. I was looking forward to having my food served by kitten inspired robots because I thought I wouldn't need to tip. That concept turned out to be incorrect. The robots didn't have arms so the food was transferred from the shelves on the robots to the table by human beings.
The dishes are small and inexpensive so the cost of the meal depends on how many dishes you order.
I enjoyed the seaweed salad, the chicken wings, and the fried squid.
Because of the location of the restaurant, you have to go up a flight of stairs to get from the parking lot to the restaurant. This is a problem for wheelchair riders. There may be a way circumvent the stairs. I'm not sure.

Easily one of my new favorite restaurants in the DMV! The yakitori, ramen, sushi, desert, sake, everything we had was beyond delicious. The quality of service is also excellent, not to mention the hospitality of the staff. I live about an hour away and am willing to travel back regularly just to eat here again. Phenomenal job on the entirety of those who work at this restaurant. Thank you so much!

This is a great place to go. It's a really nice change in atmosphere from the typical Japanese places around Baltimore. The best part is the pricing and portions. We had a chance to really explore the menu without feeling bad afterwards.

I normally don’t write reviews, but I felt this experience needed to be shared. I visited this restaurant with my family — two adults, two toddlers who shared one plate, and my 3-month-old daughter who obviously didn’t eat. Despite that, they charged us an 18% service fee for five people, which didn’t make sense. When I asked the lady at the counter why it was calculated that way, she told me it was because we were “five people,” even though only two adults actually ordered full meals.
On top of that, the rice didn’t taste good, and the customer service was disappointing. The lady gave me attitude when I questioned the charge, and because I paid in cash, she did not want to give me my full change back. It felt like they were trying to justify the service fee no matter what, and honestly, it comes off as a scammy practice.
I’m posting this so other families are aware of how they calculate their fees. I hope they improve their customer service and become more transparent with their charges.

You might as well order online and eat at home. Then they don't bring you your food all at once expect to sit there watching whoever you are with eat while you wait for your order and they wait for the rest of theirs. Also when you asked for utensils they will bring them and slide them across the bare wooden table and you just have to assume the table has been sanitized prior to you arriving there. God forbids you have a question about something on the menu because again you don't have to talk to.
If you expect some quality time/date with someone this is not the place because you will spend more time using your phone to add items to your order and learn to navigate their website.
At least tip isn't mandatory and food was good.

Highly recommend Izakaya for a flavorful, relaxed meal. We liked everything we ordered. It was easy to order and then having the food delivered by cat robots was fun. The spicy ramen 🍜 and Karaage chicken were our favorites but everything was so good! The sesame balls for dessert were the perfect ending to a great meal. We will be back!!
