Sushi Q7 Jessup Laurel

My daughter and I have been cuddling through the area sushi restaurants to celebrate her birthday for nearly two decades now. Through the years, several of our favorites have closed and we've needed to search for a new place.

WE FOUND IT!

Everything was fantastic, from the (post-lunchtime) moment we walked in until we walked outside, replete and happy.

We ordered a selection of rolls and a large plate of sashimi, expecting small- to average-sized portions at reasonable prices. What we got were nearly futomaki-sized rolls at these same prices. The flavor combinations, both sweet and savory, both spicy and sublime, were even more impressive than the value.

Everyone we saw or spoke with was polite and smiling, and made us feel immediately welcome.

We'll be back next year, and likely a few times in-between!

Great lunch special, glad they have it on starters

This is our normal go-to place for sushi, but the last takeout experience was really not worth the price. The sushi portion thickness was reduced and without the special sauce that makes it tasty. The miso soup was watered down so badly that it tasted like water with tofu. Will be finding a better option in the future, sadly.

Phenomenal sushi at a bit of a high price, but they make up for it for the hospitality. Every order comes with fried crab sticks, and cheesecake before and after the meal. The servers are quick and super nice.

Everything is very high quality. I would say, though, that the specialty roles can be risky. Some are really good but others aren’t. The lemon salmon roll, for instances, ends up being really sweet because of the lemon pulp they add. I appreciate that this restaurant strives for creativity but they don’t always achieve what they are going for I think.

Additionally, the service can be spotty - things often don’t come out all at the same time.

Overall the value for money is excellent so it still earns 4 stars.
