Patrick was very nice and the manager who visited the tables was very pleasant and welcoming
Once good--but now struggling to maintain standards After many years of enjoyable dining at Mountain Branch, this 2026 Restaurant Week visit was disappointing. It feels like a place that's struggling to live up to its prior standards. The restaurant week price for the dishes that are offered is no bargain for the customer. None of the main courses on the special menu are on the regular menu, & that's probably just as well. Between the recipes, the kitchen & the service, we hope the Mountain Branch can return to the higher standards it used to maintain. We started with the Maryland crab soup. This cup of soup was tasty but cold, & we had to return it. It returned hotter, but reheating took a long time, & others at the table had finished their starters by the time it arrived. Not much crabmeat was to be found in the chowder. The pear & goat cheese salad was nice & tasty. The raw onions were overpowering, but certainly woke you up. The main courses have a long way to go. The beef stroganoff is plentiful & looks good. The sauce & flavor of the dish was very bland. It's a poor-man's stroganoff. The beef chunks were tough, hard to cut & difficult to chew. A poor cut of beef for a stroganoff. The pasta was nice, but the dish seemed to have been made by a junior or trainee chef who didn't pay enough attention to flavoring. The chicken marsala was very rich & flavorful. You'll see in the photo it looks strange, but it was enjoyable to eat. The mushrooms are good. There could have been more of them. The generous-sized chicken cutlets are presented on a heavy bed of mashed potatoes. This is a nice tasty dish. But $39 dollars (for the 3-course menu)? The bread pudding was excellent. Unfortunately, it was heavy on the whipped cream, & very light on the caramel sauce. For many years, it has been the caramel sauce that added a great flavor & interest to this dish. With less of it, a local diner can do this dish just as well. The server was polite & nice, but rarely to be seen. There were long periods of absence. She must have had many distractions at this 4-o'clock hour. She seemed to have only one other table to serve. The service was not great, & certainly was not attentive. Removing the stroganoff dish at the end of the meal, she spilled the sauce across my coat & onto an adjacent chair seat. She didn't notice either spillage, & seemed not to know what to do after I pointed out the problems. I cleaned it all up myself. I suppose all's well that end's well.

There with friends that have been getting together to eat at Mountain Branch for 10 years. It's always good. Great service great food. Great ambulance will be back.
Did wasn't particularly hot when we got it, but it was excellent but we loved the ambiance, had a great server and enjoyed everything we ate. Will be back!
Our New Year's Eve dinners (filet mignon, scallops, seafood pasta, NY strip steak) were excellent. Cooked perfectly and served hot. Deserts (creame brulee, cheesecake, bread pudding)were extremely good. The server, Brian, was outstanding, very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was great. We sat near the fireplace which made the ambiance warm and cozy. The Manager came by to check if we were happy and needed anything. Outstanding evening.
Cream of crab didn't have any crabmeat and way too thick. Mountain house salad with shrimp salad on top was $30, a little pricey for lettuce. Service was very good.
We always enjoy coming to Mountain Branch. We sat in the bar area. There were 5 of us. The waitress/bartender was wonderful as always. Can't remember her name but she always waits on us andctakes very good care of us. She had long brown hair with a big smile on her face!!

Had a lunch reservation and was told brunch was only available and could not order lunch. Five minutes later another guest was offered a lunch menu after we had already visited the brunch. The food on the brunch looked like it had been sitting out for three plus hours and never fresh again. Happy Birthday to me! Never again!
Never had a bad experience here. It's our special occasion favorite restaurant always. Food was excellent and the service was exceptional!
We love Mountain Branch. Always am enjoyable visit, great food, wonderful service and perfect timing to celebrate my mom's birthday. Thank you Lisa Isabell

We went to the Thursday deck party and sat on the deck.
The view was beautiful but the metal chairs were hard and uncomfortable. Cushions would be very helpful in providing guests a reason to linger. The Caesar salad, baby crab cakes and short rib tortellini were delicious. It would be great if staffing could be increased during busier times to avoid such long waits for food service.

Pick great weather and eat outside on the patio overlooking the golf course. It will be a great evening.
First time to celebrate completion of cancer treatment in the area. Fabulous lunch and value. Started with calamari which were tender, lightly breaded and freshly fried to a golden color. We could tell the oil was fresh. Then soup. Waiter Ben offered us a generous sample portion of the crème of crap along with the Maryland crap soup that I ordered. Both were excellent and even tastier mixed (Ben's suggestion). We shared 3 grilled Mahi tacos. The veggies were fresh, crisp and the Mahi was cooked perfectly. All of our courses were warm to hot, which is our personal preference when dining out. We were pleasantly surprised at the value including a cocktail and a beer. We look forward to going back. Nice view of the course from our table Only comment is those windows should be huge picture windows. Keep it up!
Well we went there for our anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was ok and our waitress was nice, but the food was terrible. My wife ordered the filet mignon and a baked potato. So when her order came, it was missing the baked potato and then she cut into the steak and it was all gristle and fat. So when the waitress came over, she apologized for the potato and said she would be right out with one. When i said the steak looked more like a ribeye, she said... oh no they butterfly them it is a filet. My meal was better, but they don't know how to cook asparagus, it was cut up into small pieces with the larger parts of the stalks. Well the potato came 15 minutes later after we were done. I had to apologize for dinner...
