Oxtail was so salty I had to throw my entire meal away. It looked so good when I got home and opened it but... No. I wish I would have checked reviews before wasting my money and time because it also was a long wait yesterday April 18th 2024 on a weekday during lunch hours. I'm not one to write reviews but needed to about this salty experience.

Ok, Wifey and I started out on our Thursday date night with Annapolis intentions, then she hit me about the Lion Lunch Hour segment featuring this restaurant in which I immediately complied. So, we fired up the ride and La Plata it was. Not unfamiliar territory for us and to be quite frank all dining adventures in that proximity have been delightful. Let's dive in....location, ambiance and food were totally on point. Since I'm smoking a brisket and pork butt this weekend, Wifey opted for the Cajun Salmon & Shrimp with yellow rice, and I, Oxtails with cabbage and collards. Everything was fresh, not salty and the veggies were REAL, not canned or frozen. I also got an order of jerk wings to go, and they were totally authentic, what we had on the beaches of Sandals in Ocha Rios and West Coast!!!! We also had drinks and they were delightful as well. The only things stopping this from 5 stars is the order layout, you order at the counter, then sit and wait for the food, unlike a traditional restaurant. They also seemed a little understaffed in regard to the overall flow with no interaction at the dine in tables unless you go back to the order counter. Will definitely be back to witness the evolution!!!!

My husband and I purchased the whole chicken and the food was ok but salty. The chicken was dry and I asked for barbecue sauce on the side, it was not your average barbecue sauce and it was flavorless. I really didn't care for the shrimp Mac & cheese either and the collard greens were decent. The plantains were good. The establishment was clean however we did do takeout for our order and they seemed friendly. I will try to give it another try however I was disappointed especially for the price.

Everything was top tier! Walking up to the door, you can smell the essence of the food. It was so many delicious options, I couldn't decide what to order so I ordered a few things. I ordered the stuff salmon with two sides which were the cabbage and candy yams. Yummm! I also ordered the crab and shrimp egg rolls. My friend ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls and when I tell you they were BOMB.COM., drinks, service and vibe was top tier. I can't wait to return.

I gave this establishment 1 star too many. The food was too expensive to be that bad. The jerk chicken was horrible. In fact, worst I've ever had. The cabbage was way over cooked. As long as I waited to try them out, I was very disappointed. Sorry guys, you really need to take these comments under consideration and go back to the drawing board.

OMG... I'd have taken a picture... but, the food is gone! WOW... It took a little while... but, it was worth the wait... rave reviews from locals compelled me to try it out for the first time... their conviction was validated with every morsel I destroyed... the only downside, is that i have to go back and try more of the menu...?... absolutely, food elevated... dare I say, most places taste bland by comparison... Amazingly DELICIOUS!

The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was ok .The food wasn’t authentic or good AT ALL .I spent 103 dollars for three dinner plates and three drinks (non alcoholic).I had the oxtails which were in a jelly type of gravy and didn’t taste good at all it’s like they were freezer burnt ,the ,cabbage was overcooked really badly ,the rice and peas were still cold and flavorless,even the plantain was undercooked .My daughter had the jerk chicken and it was bland at best ,my friend had the Rasta pasta and said it was”ok” .Not one of us ate more that two or three bites .Trust me we tried because that was a lot of money to waste .We ended up leaving there and having to go find dinner .If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food this is not it .

Another best kept secret for us savory foodies!!! Family owned and operated. Listen, the cabbage is delicious. The egg rolls and there is this pasta dish with shrimp and crab meat that are my "cheat days--over the weekend GO TO dishes. The Oxtails are also so good. The turkey wings will make you re-think Sunday cooking. The chicken wings make me wanna raise my grandma from the dead. The Rasta pasta is good too. Don't come here if you're on a diet! You'll not only going to fall off the wagon, you'll kick it over trying to get into the restaurant. The food is definitely comforting.

So me & my bf saw a TikTok video about this place and decided we would try it out and bc I’m Caribbean and I like supporting and trying new Caribbean restaurants with him bc he’s AmericanHe ordered ribs dinner that came with two sides and he took rice & peas with Mac & cheese with a side of jerk chicken alsoI got the seafood Rasta pasta and jerk chicken egg rollsWe also had two slushy mixedThe place was not too small and very clean and the lady that took our order was niceAnyways my bf really loved his food overall for him it was like 9&1/2 outta 10 he loved the ribs and Mac & cheese and so did I but I didn’t like the ribs at all but I’m very picky when it comes to ribsHe said it was spicy for him for me it wasn’tThe egg roll was just ok it needs a little improvementThe jerk chicken does not taste like jerk chicken the Caribbean way it’s very misleading just like the restaurant name itselfIt’s more soul food than CaribbeanThe Rasta pasta was good it was like a 8/10The rice and peas didn’t taste like how rice and peas would normally taste but it wasn’t badThe food was very pricey we ended up spent $90+

We get to the restaurant and they’re still smoking the chicken and tell us they need an hour. Why didn’t you or text to let the customer know you couldn’t fulfill the order on time? You did not call we have our phone records so don’t even come back with that lie. Now you have my money and I have to wait for a refund. This is NOT the first time we’ve experienced this. But surely is the last because we won’t be back. Piss poor customer service.I’m editing this review to respond to the owner. This happened today as stated around 3. I have my refund receipt. Why do we have to ask to speak to a manger? You don’t know what’s happening in your restaurant when you’re there? The manger or owner should’ve been the one to address the issue. The person working the register told me when I walked in immediately that the wings were on the smoker and they were going to take an additional hour…and they tried to call us(which they didn’t). They could refund us our we could wait an additional hour. We supported your business and there’s no need to complain every time there’s a hiccup. However to recognize a customer as we enter but not have enough respect to reach out and fix the issue before we arrived is a problem. With simple communication we could’ve accepted the time change and waited to make the drive there. However your staff didn’t even reach out. They sent a text saying the order was ready and it was not. This isn’t the first time it’s happened. But the way your staff handles these issues is not acceptable. Don’t shift blame to us as the customer your staff should know to have the owner or manger speak to the customer if this type of issue arises.
