I haven’t had one problem since coming here over a year ago. The prices, food and staff are great to me every time. It’s always packed so you know what that means, IT’S GOOD! I also love how accommodating they are for people with food allergies. Now this is not a hangout spot. It’s defiantly oriented. There is a bar tucked away in the back and drinks are served here (amazing prices). If you want to have a great margarita and some yummy food, stop by and see for yourself. Never judge a hidden gem by its cover! 🥰

La Tolteca is hands-down one of my favorite spots! The chicken special is always delicious, and the birria tacos are always yummy. The service is consistently friendly and quick, which makes it an easy go-to for our family—we eat here probably every week! Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and nice people.

Great place with great food and it's still priced the same way before all this Covid inflation! Which is incredible! I'm guessing the owner is choosing to operate at a lose of profit!

A local legend! Portion sizes, prices, service, and the salsa with the chips are all great! Speaking of the salsa, it has a nice, hot kick but not overdone. Great place for dinner!

A Flavorful Force Awakens

Stopped in for a quick bite and found a feast worthy of a Jedi Council meeting. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas, and what landed at my table could’ve fed a whole squadron of rebel fighters. 🌯🔥 Grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes—all seasoned with the wisdom of a thousand spice systems. Served sizzling, of course. The kind of dish that makes you pause, breathe, and say, “The flavor is strong with this one.”

💰 Prices? Incredibly Padawan-friendly. Most menu items were priced between $8–$15 credits (USD for you Earthlings). There's a huge menu, complete with vegetarian and youngling-approved options.

🌮 Complimentary chips and salsa made for a solid warm-up round—crunchy, golden, and gone faster than a podrace.

🧑‍🍳 Service? Kind and attentive, like a well-trained Jedi Knight—there when you need them, but never interrupting your connection with the Force (or your food).

✨ Pro tip: Come hungry and ready for leftovers. You won’t leave this cantina empty-handed—or empty-stomached.

Food quality has gone downhill. What happened to the white sauce that would be served with the chips and salsa? Wasn’t impressed with food at all

Excellent service, very clean, and a fantastic atmosphere. I ordered the fajita nachos—they were delicious, generously portioned, and priced just right. I'd definitely come back again!

La Tolteca is one of several Mexican restaurants in the Southern Maryland area, so my review is based on what’s available locally. Their prices are unmatched—by far the most affordable we’ve seen. Compared to Mexico Restaurant in White Plains, just up the road, we typically spend about half as much and receive larger portions at La Tolteca. The service is consistently good, the food arrives quickly, and we’ve never had to wait more than five minutes for a table. There’s also a bar located at the back, along with plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. All in all, when it comes to value and portion size, La Tolteca stands out as the best Mexican dining option in Southern Maryland.
